"The State exists simply to promote and to protect the ordinary happiness of human beings in this life. A husband and wife chatting over the fire, a couple of friends having a game of darts in the pub, a man reading a book in his own room or digging in his own garden - that is what the state is there for. And unless they are helping to increase and prolong and protect such moments, all the laws, parliaments, armies, courts, police, economics, etc. are simply a waste of time." C. S. Lewis, "Mere Christianity"
One of my favorite quotes.
'He did not remember when he was vice president, forgetting on the first day of the interview when his term ended ("if it was 2013 - when did I stop being Vice President?"), and forgetting on the second day of the interview when his term began ("in 2009, am I still Vice President?"),' he reportedly said' 'He did not remember, even within several years, when his son Beau died.' He was also apparently hazy on the debate around withdrawing troops from Afghanistan, which was such a key part of the first months of his presidency.
This doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know. Biden, whatever you think of him, and his past actions, and I have plenty of thoughts on that, is clearly riddled with dementia. He's no more in charge of the federal government than you or me. I don't want to see words President Harris anywhere, ever, but it's time to invoke the 25th to protect and preserve These United States from further harm.
On Jan. 30, a federal judge overturned a state law requiring background checks for each ammunition purchase, calling it unconstitutional.
Commiefornia will certainly appeal the ruling. Let's pray common sense prevails when it reaches the 9th. If not, onward to SCOTUS until we kill this nonsense.
Make sure you live lives of good, decent men and women because children pay more attention to what we do every day, in good times and bad, than what we say.
An illegal immigrant who was arrested for taking part in a violent mob attack on two NYPD officers flipped the bird at awaiting reporters We
This is what the lefts America looks like. This is how they live in South and Central America, and they have brought this shit here, our wide open border have let it come in. This was a common place tactic used in many of the countries I lived in or traveled to. Groups of teen and early 20's "maleantes" roaming the streets in packs attacking and victimizing anyone who dared look them in the eyes. Police, shot owners, lady working in her garden they didn't care. Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Columbia, Honduras, they all had the same problem and now it is here, and we left the door open for them.
We didn't leave the door open, but the treasonous left did. They need the numbers for reapportionment and to fill the local and state voter rolls. If you listen closely the left's leadership, like Pelosi and Nadler, will even tell you the need the slaves to pick the fruit and vegetables that will otherwise rot without them.
Trent Palmer is a backcountry pilot from northern Nevada. While making an inspection pass he was reported for reckless behavior to the FAA by an unpleasant neighbor. The FAA found him in violation of FAR's and has threatened to pull his ticket. His original video on the incident can be found here along with a follow up here.
Inspection passes like the one Palmer was reported for are critical to allowing the pilot in command a clear understanding of the ground conditions and whether it's safe to land. Not being able to perform an inspection below 500' would require a pilot to land blind and risk destroying the airplane and putting the safety of everyone on board at risk. That's unacceptable.
Senator Ted Budd of NC has taken up the fight to require the FAA to add exceptions for inspection passes, as well as common training maneuvers including go arounds, practice approaches, and instrument approaches, to the list of maneuvers exempted from the minimum altitude regulation (14 C.F.R. § 91.119).
You can help by contacting your Senator and sharing this. Go to Senate.gov or call the main switchboard at (202)-224-3121. Ask your Senator to support the Backcountry Aviation Protection Act.
The FAA turned over inspections of new aircraft to manufacturers like Boeing, who either skips inspections or ignores or hides what it finds, leading to doors and nacelles coming off aircraft in flight, but has the temerity to bust the balls of a private pilot doing the right thing?
I homestead out of a generations long connection to this ground. The blood, sweat, and tears that have been spilled into this fertile soul that now provide a good, stable, healthy life for my family.
FREEDOM!!!
Long may good men and women defend her and all she stands for.

Your opinion doesn’t matter.

I am a firearms salesman and protector of the 2nd Amendment. You are a turncoat fudd. If you believe the government, military, and police should have access to items the citizenry should not, you are a proponent of subjugation, not freedom. “Shall not be infringed” is a predicate of the subject of the sentence, being “The right of the people” you are not in favor of the 2nd Amendment, you are a government boot licker. Citizens are free, civilians are not. Citizens have autonomy, civilians are serfs.
Period. Full stop.
This is what it looks like when a criminal forces you to use a firearm to defend yourself, your family and your home. This was after the firearm was taken for 5 months and I had to fight to get it back because the DA did not want to release it back to me. Being a former LEO I knew it was going to be taken, what I did not expect was the anti-gun DA was going to stop me, the victim from retrieving my property even after I was clear of any wrongdoing. You are your own first responder.
@zanzibardrakonides, The obstructing was not even for the attempt to get in our house by climbing the outside of the house to the second floor. It was for lying to the police. There is a whole long story here but the short version is; When this guy tried to gain entry to the house my Bride moved to our kids room with the phone to call 911 and with her firearm to protect the kids (They were 6 and 9 at the time.) I got this guy on the ground at gunpoint and held him there for 7 minutes, at that point I did what I knew I shouldn’t, I took my eyes off him. My 9 year old was having a medical event, I looked over my shoulder to get information on him from my Bride, whose a nurse. When I looked over my left shoulder it of course change my point of aim, well this guy took that as his chance to attack me. He popped up like a cork and I fired, one round it passed between his chest and upper arm, through his jacket and t-shirt and completely missed him. He dove like superman off the balcony, 13 feet down to my new BBQ below where he broke 5 ribs. The Deputies would not get there for another 8 minutes. (I’m still salty over that BBQ.) He got in his car and took off, he passed out some miles down the road because the broken ribs had punctured a lung. The car crash was in a different country, he lied to the first responders about who he was and the situation but at the hospital his injuries did not add up so their PD was called in. Our Sheriff’s office had put a BOLO (Be on The Look Out) so the PD called them and they sent a Deputy out to talk to the guy, he in turn lied to the police. (Obstructing) He was interviewed in the hospital a number of times where he stated “I wanted to get to know her (My Bride) and that’s what I was going to do”. I interpret that as he was going to rape my wife, it is the only way I can take that from a guy who climbed our house at 0200 in the morning and beat on the slider like a SWAT team. He was later charged with stalking, trespassing, and a few other little things. Shitty part is he left the hospital before being arrested and fled he has not seen the inside of a courtroom or a jail cell, the warrant is still active. @kasaron, Don’t stop fighting for it. The DA was perfectly content to let my firearm sit in evendance until doomsday. The city attorney was on my side and filed a number of request for it to be released, she was a big help. The Sheriff at the time had informed the city attorney and the DA that they no longer needed it as evidence as well. I called every Wednesday for 2 months, I sent 3 certified letters, the last one I also sent to our firearms friendly State Senator(s). I do not know if that helped but it did not hurt. My next step was going to be seeing if I could get the News stations to run a story on it. Lastly I would have gotten a lawyer. My advice is be the squeaky wheel, make them work for you or against you but make them work. Have a paper trail of everything you do, you may need to show it to a judge or lawyer at some point. Mostly I hope no criminal puts you and yours in that situation. 2 FUNNY SIDE NOTES: Our 6 year old slept through the entire thing. Me yelling at this guy to get on the ground, the .45 going off, the deputies in the house for 4 hours. She slept through it all. As shooters who understand our skills and our craft are perishable we practice, we practice in all kinds of conditions, rain and snow, sun and wind. TRAIN AS YOU FIGHT, we say in the Army. That brisk March morning at 0200 on my second floor balcony there was no body armor and vest, no BUMP or Mitch helmet, no gloves, boots, eye pro, hearing pro, hell or even pants. There was me, the cold, my boxers, and this pistol. I never thought I’d be in a situation where I did not have a back up magazine or 4, where it would be just me and my spongebob boxers between my family and some meth head trying to get to them. This situation change how we did a number of things. First I stopped caring my beloved 1911 and I stopped keeping it by the bed, that 7 round was just not going to do it where there are no backup magazines to be had. We have more than just pistols accessible now for whomever has to retreat back to the kids rooms. A less funny observation; We were living in a golf course community when this happened, we have since moved. Golf course communities are closely placed house in relatively quiet HOA neighborhoods. When I was yelling orders to this guy, when the firearm went off, and when the Sheriff’s partols came to the house not a single person on the block woke up. No one came out to see what all the noise was, and no other 911 calls were made reporting anything, there was no outside help. Even the guy who lived right next to me, also retired Army never heard a thing. You will be facing these situations very alone and you need to be prepared for that, and thankful for help if you get it. You are your own first responder, no one will get to your point of confrontation or time of need faster than you, be ready. And this was the short version.
The sitting SL County DA has never released any firearms used in self defense. She ties them up in destruction hearings.
@kilted-veteran just one more boot on our rights to self preservation.
@xxdarkside13xx, They had no interest in anything other than the firearm used. The Deputy who took the pistol, who by the way I now live next to, said he was sorry that he had to take the pistol. I said I understood and that I was just going to get another one out of the safe. He asked that I wait until they left. They never asked how many firearms were in the house or where they were. They were only concerned about where the one used was. When I was an LEO, I always asked of there were firearms in the house, often people would ask if I wanted to see them. I never did unless they were relevant to the call. It was just for my information, it was more important in domestic calls.
10-4, thanks for the info. Glad that no one on your end of it was hurt that evening.
Also happy to hear no one was hurt that didn't need to be.
Reflagging to emphasize: You are your own first responder. You are your own first and last line of defense. Period.
