It's baphomet

bluesky is turning into tumblr: i accidentally said the phrase that materializes 3000 bots. jackelyn67 "who" has a profile pic of some breasts concealed with nipple pasties runs toward my post faster than a dog goes to the sound of kibble being shaken but god forbid a trans woman put on a croptop
the more you underestimate your efforts, the less you will charge for them, the more likely you'll get a nasty case of carpal tunnel syndrome before you hit your 30's. THINK SMART!
A schmall thought on animatics
look at me i'm using the microblogging site to BLOG! i wanna address something ive already talked about, with more elaborate detail. if you are an animator, an animation student, or just have an interest in animation, you know about animatics. animatics are a blueprint of the timing, staging, and composition of an animated production. they got the feeling of the animation, without the frames. here's some for the simpsons movie.
here's one for invader zim
and here's the one for something more recent, PRIMAL. this one is absolutely crazy
just like with character design sheets, loose cels (from back in the day), or color scripts, animatics are production art. they are pieces to a bigger puzzle. they have a larger purpose of heading the final product towards the direction that the producer and the director have planned for the entire piece. and they can be done from compiling either storyboard drawings or layout drawings into a video editing software with audio. THEY ARE NOT A FINAL PRODUCT
which is why i dont understand this trend:
guys...these are ANIMATIONS! extremely low framerate but they are ANIMATIONS! unless suddenly everybody is working on turning every single one of these as a short, which i dont think so. i think using the word "animatic" for these ones underestimates the effort they take, or places ridiculous expectations in every single work made by students beginners amateurs or indies, every single person who happens to not have the budget or time to make a 24fps short, which btw IS NOT MANDATORY. animation is the "illusion of life", is the artistic arrangement of visual 2D space constrained within a timerange, thats the definition. anybody can be an animator, when you are animating. a one-person team will do one-person work, "production value" is like santa claus. it dont really matter. never be afraid of limited animation. ever.
for your inspiration, here's a plymptoon:
and here's an example of GREAT limited animation
ciao.
the eagerness and desire to find The Ethical Lolcow cant be the driving point of your entire media criticism toolset
Legendary fantasy artist John Blanche has died. He is known mostly for his long association with Games Workshop, where he served as art director and created many of the iconic images that shaped the Warhammer and 40K worlds. He was capable of working in diverse styles, but much of his art and his own creative miniature conversions made his name synonymous with the "grimdark" aesthetic, mixing elements of moody gothic architecture and body horror with a limited color palette.
He also contributed to GW's UK edition of Dungeons & Dragons, Fighting Fantasy and Sorcery! books, and other books and album covers. Wombat Games recently published an authorised biography, Blanche: The Rise of Grimdark. A skirmish game, John Blanche's En Garde, is in development with a setting and visual style based on his art.
i keep thinking about this NL rant almost every day
I've spoken about this before but now i'm making a more official announcement: I'm VGen now! I still do comms the traditional way but i know some folks feel more secure over here
CLICKY
JOHN BLANCHE FOREVER. NOBODY UNDERSTOOD GRIMDARK LIKE HIM. THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY HEART SKIP WITH YOUR FUCKED UP VISIONS. REST IN PEACE.
sadly my very cute dog is having a strange day because New And Different Stimuli arrived this morning
there's this really manipulative abuse tactic where ppl will release saline from their eyes and once you start assaulting random strangers you'll start seeing it everywhere
