Whew. Officially done with the writing I had wanted to get done, so now I can switch gears and focus on this comic. Thank you so much for your patience and hopefully I’ll have good news in the near future.

This Week
Just wanted to make a quick update to inform you all that I shall be focusing on my writing this week and that there will, in all likelihood, be no further updates until after this Sunday, when my writing shall be due. After that, I plan on posting the first actual pages of the comic with the hope for future updates to fall upon a regular schedule (that I am still working out). This does not mean the end of character portraits; I actually quite enjoy them and do not see them stopping, but plan on posting them as additional content outside of some schedule. (Have to keep you all on your toes somehow.)
Thank you all for your patience and support, and I will post more when there is more to post.
After several long months of waiting, finally the first page of the comic is here. And it is also, coincidentally enough, the last page. This is the comic.
We’ve had a good run.
*looks about*
Okay, now that I’ve thrown the MRAs off of my scent, we can finally move on to the other protagonists and stop implying that this is some kind of all-male crew.
Now introducing Ieise Óg Ó hAodha (that’s Jesse Hughes Jr. to those that don’t understand the Irish Gaelic) in all of his...glory? At the age of twenty-two, he’s lived quite a hard life, and only vaguely resembles our nation’s first President.
This is probably the most recognizable portrait that has been used for reference thus far, and I give my wholehearted permission to meme this bad boy up, though preferably with... sea shanties.
I thought I should explain my “not indicative of final product” tag: these are the characters’ names and their designs (though some minor changes might be made), but the comic itself will not be quite the same. Things will be a bit more simplified in order to allow myself the ability to get pages out in any kind of timely manner, and there won’t be the painted texture over everything; that was just for fun for these portraits.
Anyway, more portraits to come, though I have yet to decide if I will do one for every crew member, or if I will find a stopping point. Maybe I’ll post some antagonist portraits if that would be something anyone would be interested in?
Wow, I’ve been breezing through these. Though there will likely be a break between this one and the next as I have to find the right reference, and I want to focus a bit on my writing before the tenth.
But, for now, here is George Washington Olawalé. He is neither out-gunned or out-manned.
So that there might not be any further misconceptions as to who the subject of these portraits may be, I shall now include their names, though on the safe side I shall say this now: this is not George Washington.
Meet Breogán Vázquez de Noia y Expósito in all of his love-child-of-Miguel-and Tulio-and-Chell glory.
More to come.
Well it’s certainly been quite a while. While this is not quite the final product, this at least is a step (laterally) from MS Paint concept art... I plan to post more of these portraits in the coming days (though other work might keep me a bit busy so don’t expect a regularly-scheduled upload).
But hey! At least all of this means we’re getting closer to actual pages! That’s an accomplishment, right?
(Also, I feel the need to point out that this is an actual character from PotM, not just knock-off George Washington. He’s not even English!)
[EDIT] In line with my new policy of stating the subject’s name, meet Lieutenant Jean-Marie Jacques Françoise Solé, chevalier du Rietz.
A quick MS Paint sketch of the Jolly Roger for ███████████████, the pirate ship of the infamous Captain ██████.
