not a dream
As most of you know, Croatia has been hit by a pretty big earthquake today, another big one this year (what you should know is that before 2020 we never had huge earthquakes like that and now we had a few pretty big ones in the midst of a pandemic so people including myself really don’t know how to react and it’s stressful and horrible to live through it and I know many people can relate because they’ve went through similar traumatic experiences themselves), there’s been casualties, some villages are completely gone, two towns are basically falling apart, there’s damage in the town where I live (Zagreb), too and my whole house shook like a leaf for a good moment when it was happening, and I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that I thought I was going to die in that moment (my mom shared with me that she basically feared the same) because it felt like the house was going to fall on us because of how bad the earthquake was, thank the Heavens that we’re fine physically and our home is undamaged, but a lot of people were not so lucky and now there’s just so much destruction and sadness and fear left in place where there used to be happy families, peaceful family homes, and victims are still being found/saved and it’s just a lot so I’ll be sharing some posts and resources which people from my country and other countries as well can use if they can help monetarily in any way (if not, even sharing is a huge way to help so please don’t feel bad about yourself if you can’t donate, I understand how rough this year has been and want you all to take care of yourselves).
The first way to help has been shared by Croatia’s Red Cross:
This is the account of the Red Cross from the town hit by the earthquake the most.
This is still the best source for international donations I could find. I personally donated through Red Cross as well, and I implore you, please donate if it’s possible for you to do so and if not (again, completely understandable considering the year we’re going through has been so financially hard on everybody), please share the information because that helps as well! Thank you.
