The negative feeling of seeing someone, who told you while you were discovering your neurodivergency symptoms, to stop making everything about it, and told you to stop talking about the neurodivergency with them.
Only to turn around a year or two and do exactly what you were doing (talking about how ND affects you view on life) when you were discovering yourself. 😭😭😭😭
The struggle of growing up as a traumatized kid, but also being like chill/moved on from it. Is that it makes talking about your pre-adult life very awkward with non-traumatized people
Someone ask you about an experience youve had, and you dont really have a positive answer
so you either have to be super vague and dodgy so you dont drag down the mood, even if you feel fine about talking about it, which makes the other person feel suspicious about it you because they can tell you arent speaking the truth
Or you be honest, which brings down the mood (meaning like what was supposed to be a silly/casual conversation suddenly turns dark and akwward for anyone to pick back up) or gives you unwanted advice/commentary
Such as, not everyone is like that (yes i already know that) or "you should just try it again some time" (no i dont think i want to)
Or the dreaded "just move on from it!" (I am moved on, but moving on doesnt rewrite what happened and how i felt at the time)
doubly frustrating when they ask for more details and then get annoyed that you answered honestly, then they hit you with 'you clearly havent moved on if you still talk about it' my man, you freaking asked for the details!!! I gave you the details because you asked for them!!!!
"i would notice if you switched, so you must be faking"
bitch I can't even tell if i switched 80% of the time
We should probably normalize not knowing information about your system like what an alter's role is, total alter count, who is fronting, etc, since that is actually very normal.
Yes, your friend will "change" if they come out as a system to you. They seem like they're changing because they're trying to unmask around you and let their alters be themselves and not hide amnesia and other aspects of the disorder as much.
I understand it can be hard to realize your friend isn't exactly how you thought they were, but they're still you're friend. It's likely you've met their other alters, they just didn't say who they were.
Please support you friend, even if it's seemed like they've changed.
Wait hang on... was I traumatized as a teenager? *thinks about it for a bit* Well I can't remember anything traumatic so it's probably fine.
HEY
Check yourself before you wreck your.... friendships with other people who are just trying to open up to you.
[Pic ID: first image: Two people standing, both happy expressions. One says to other "I wish you should share more about what goes on with you, so i can understand you better"
2nd image, person angry expression and arms crossed, " people with *insert symptom/behavior* are disgusting and problematic and need to stay away from me ". The 2nd person looks sadly shocked, with the thought bubble, me with said symptoms who i was gonna open up to gain understanding.
3rd image: person confused expression, saying i dont understand why you wont open up to me about these things. The 2nd person looks sad and nervous, thought bubble saying "*doesnt want to be judged or viewed with the same disgust/ fear"
Having insys partners is great but also when you're cofronting, being physically affectionate can just look like this.
I'm holding your hand but it's also my hand and yeah that's poetic but it's so fucking funny.
One of the more frustrating experiences i had with a no-longer friend
Them: Why are you so weird? Why do you talk in memes and abstracts why cant you talk like normal people
Me whose only contact with people outside my house (not counting school), for 13 years, being the internet:
(Former) friend: its like you space out every time something stressful happens ):<
Me, With stress-out-space-out disease (which ive told them multiple times over the past 3 years): oh gee i fucking wonder why
