Marlene bites down on her lip. However unlikely it was - it could, honestly, be anything. Could be one of Hagrid’s many w o n d e r o u s creatures; or even one of the creatures she had spoken to Xeno about. “Sorry; only speaking the truth,” It varies with Marlene. Some times she’s joking (often at times where she really, really shouldn’t be.) “Wouldn’t you?”
“I mean - who wouldn’t? But that’s - that’s completely besides the point right now,” Her voice became hushed as the noise approached them, and every time it got closer to them it felt like something was bursting in the girl’s eardrum. If anything were to attack them, Emmeline felt like she and Marlene could h a n d l e it. They were both thick skinned ( they were both great at duelling ) but Emmeline felt her heart start pounding as the noise grew, and with her hand tightening, she muttered under her breath, “I swear to Salazar.”
