I want to change the way the south paddles.
I'm an ACA instructor for both coastal kayaking and SUP. I run a kayak company and am living the dream in coastal North Carolina.
Kayaking is not a sport in the southeastern US like it is in the pacific northwest, or even in the northeast. I want this to change. I want to drive down the road and drool over the boats that are on the car next to me, not cringe because it doesn't have bulkheads. I want to be able to throw up a post asking for people to come surfing with me, and have people actually want to come. I want to have paddling friends near me who know how to roll, and will go play in open water with me.
I want people to value instruction, not tell me that they've never tipped their kayak over.
I just want to kayak and save the world; is that too much to ask?
