Okay, this really sucks, but I think I need to put this blog on a little hiatus. I know, I just opened him, but work sucks and I'm officially ill with what can only be described as the plague, and I might have opened a new blog someone stop me.
But I'll still be over at Reiner mostly, if you need to find me! I'll try to keep some replies here going, but I don't make any promises.
I don't want to set a goal for when I'll be back bc hell who knows, but I'll try to make it soon.
"…I-I guess…I have one or two secrets…b-but…everyone does right? I-I’m sure you have one or two…."
"I think most people do, yeah."
And then he thinks about it for a moment...
"I don't... really. I guess that just means I need to learn how to shut up, huh?"

heaving the supplies onto the cart really is taking a huge toll on her aching legs, and having to pretend she didn`t feel her entire body almost collapse at the slightest bend of her knees is torture. training regiments had always been tough, but under the watchful eye of captain levi ackerman they were drills from hell, and as hard of a whip the training camp instructor held, levi whipped ten times harder. she doesn`t mask her displeasure and groans every other minute; and she`s not alone in her complaints, either.
"do me a favour, break my nose!" connie exclaims, breaking dazed spell their agonizing torture had wrought. for the first time since they`ve began, sasha`s eyes perk, widening, staring at him as if he`d said something so revolutionary it was ground breaking.
"wait, wait! you have to break my nose first!” she replies as she carries an armful of sand bags with the minimal energy she can muster. “you can`t leave me behind! if you get out of this, then i get to go, too!”
"--I can't break your nose!"
He couldn't bring himself to hurt her. Even when they'd been practicing hand to hand combat, he hadn't been able to actually bring her harm ( although, they h a d spent a lot of that time goofing around with each other ).
"I mean-- maybe if I look away, I could... We'd have to do it at the same time."
Was it really worth it to break their noses and get out of this awful chore? ... Yeah, it was. With Levi running it...
Levi wasn't going to let them out of it, broken noses or not.
A loud groan leaves Connie's lips and he drops his head forward onto one of the stacks of supplies he's meant to be carrying. He was so close to letting her break his nose...
"The captain's not gonna let us out, no matter what..."
“I know what you mean.. I think we can still make a difference. We have to. We always have before. The titans haven’t attacked in a while… I mean, the ones who broke down the walls. Maybe we have a c h a n c e of taking them back.”
Connie wants to be as optimistic as Marco, but he can't bring himself to be. Not when the titans held an attack on them not so long ago. Not when, after 100 years of peace, they suddenly barged in through the walls and killed thousands of people... He still had family that lived close to the south-- that needed to be protected in case the titans ever came back for them...
"I don't know, man... They didn't do anything for so long, and suddenly they attacked harder than ever before..."
The thing that she liked the most about Connie was the fact that he didn’t act differently around her, unlike most of the other cadets — mainly the boys. He treated her basically the same we he treated everyone else.
… But why on earth was he looking at her like that?
“— Connie? Is everything alright?”
Shit, he's staring! His eyes drop quickly to the gear he's supposed to be cleaning, and he scrubs at it with a quick cough to clear his throat as he tries to speak to her.
"--Yeah, I'm fine! Totally fine. I was just-- you know, I was thinking about..."
He trails off, unsure of how exactly to word his confession.
I was thinking about how all the guys wanna get into your uniform, and I could care less.
Yeah, because that'll go over well.
It is with the v i g o r of a true rival with which Jean complains Eren with, sometimes making his famous rants last up to two hours long. Usually Connie lends an ear, but after a particularly passionate recollection of Eren’s misgivings that eve, he would become painfully aware of the other’s lack of enthusiasm.
” — oi, you still payin’ attention?”
Connie stands straight, clearing his throat and holding his hands down by his sides. It's as if Shadis himself is the one who called him to attention, and this small cough leaves his throat as he tries to p r e t e n d as if he's been paying attention for the entire two hour rant.
"--Yeah! Yeah, I'm... totally listening."
"I’m not playing a game. You weren’t listening to Bertholdt when you asked those questions, were you?" It was probably too much to ask, to be able to make Connie understand that they didn’t want this, that no one would. But someone had to do it. The kid in front of him must be thinking of him as some sadistic, cruel person. He and Connie hadn’t been incredibly close, but Reiner had liked him. He doesn’t have the patience to keep going with the games, as Connie calls it, though. “I was twelve, Connie. It’s no excuse and it doesn’t change what happened, but does that put some perspective on it for you? How do you think you’d handle being the biggest mass murderer on the planet at that age? I know what I deserve, but look me in the eye and tell me you could do it. Or even watch it happen.”
"No, I couldn't do it! I couldn't kill all those people! Not when I was twelve and not now! What, am I supposed to feel sorry for you?! I don't! Reiner, I don't care if you were b r a i n w a s h e d, you're the reason so many people are dead! You, Bertolt, Annie-- the rest of you! Whoever the hell that... that Beast TItan is! You're all KILLERS, and no one is going to feel sorry for you! Why the hell are you here?"
It's hard for him to scream at Reiner like this-- to put all the blame on him. He hadn't wanted to believe it. Still, he didn't want to believe it. Reiner had s a v e d him...
"Why the hell did you save me?! You're-- you're just supposed to get rid of the humans, right? So did you save me from that titan?! I don't... Reiner, I don't u n d e r s t a n d... I'm so fucking STUPID."
…at least he asked.
Still, the request summons quite a bit of discomfort. Gunther side-eyes him, brows slightly furrowed.
"…why."
"Because it just... sticks up. In the back like that. Can I?"
He looks like he's about to p o u n c e.
