“It’s about misunderstandings between people and places, being disconnected and looking for moments of connection. There are so many moments in life when people don’t say what they mean, when they are just missing each other, waiting to run into each other in a hallway.”

“I just don’t know what I’m supposed to be”. (Lost in Translation, 2003)
I’ll think about how much of a fucking joke Brokeback Mountain was considered as and I could just yell. that movie was one of the most brutal, unforgivingly honest depictions about the danger and the tragedy that gay people have lived throughout all of history. it shows a real love and its persecution which ruined these two men inside and out. It soberly stares our society down and said “look at what you’ve done to these people. look at all the different ways they’ve died at your hands. how could you?” it speaks for untold generations of people who homophobia has beaten to death on the side of the road with a tire iron
