My blog is such a chaotic mess, so it’s about time that I clarify a few things:

I am a huge Formula 1 fan, especially George Russell.

I do not condone sexist, ableist, racist, abusive or comments or asks. You will be deleted and blocked.

I will follow from @bethanfrances - that is a blog that I don’t use. This blog the only blog that I use.

My blog has mainly been a Formula 1 one for a while, although there will be occasional mentions of Luke Newton, Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunters and Rick Riordan’s novels. There will occasionally be other stuff as well.

Whilst I’m so annoyed yet again that George had another issue, it cannot be understated just how dangerous that could have been for George and the other drivers - especially on a track that has seen multiple fatal crashes in recent years. Yes the lost points and the forced narrative around him is concerning and should be challenged, but today I am glad that everyone is ok.

Two thing I must say

1. The constant Toto Wolff implicit portrayal of George Russell as if he is mentally challenged or depressed through endless "he is not confident" statements are concerning. It's like him trying to rewrite George's character as a whole to excuse whatever "misfortune" is happening. Putting out such narrative about his own driver is not his first. In the past, he tried to portray George as an introvert or make it seem like George didn't believe on himself despite George saying the complete opposite.

2. The lack of regards Mercedes has towards George Russell's safety is VERY alarming. Continuously letting him drive with such faulty internal components in his car and making no improvement when heavy risk and consequence relating to George's safety and wellbeing is highly present all the time. This is not the first time in years that they decided to ignore and not be transparent of the technical problem happening. Will they not learn unless a bad thing happen?

This is honestly concerning and there is no way this team provides a healthy workplace environment. It is not about the championship anymore. It is just pure ignorance and disregard because currently they are on their high horses. Whether or not you believed some kind of race fixing/sabotage is happening, this is a careless dangerous manipulative behaviour exhibited by a team who is led by an incapable unprofessional leader.

If this continues, this can be very dangerous. And up until now? They don't seem to be alarmed by the failures that has happened to George regardless of the big risk right in front of their eyes. Which makes it more concerning. Disgusting behaviour.

Another fucking car issue. Yet I’m meant to believe that it’s a skill issue. Poor George.

Mercedes continuing the ‘it’s mental’ narrative about George is so fucking insane. Firstly, they conveniently forget the month’s worth of car problems (which the team is 100 per cent at fault for) thus enabling them to not take accountability. Secondly, they forget that they immediately consider it a team thing whenever the chosen one has car issues. Which is it as it makes zero sense. I see different drivers have different narratives and protection within the team. What a mess.

Honestly what is going on in that team, seems like nothing but rancid vibes. Because what do you mean they granted special access to that driver to a behind the scenes for Italian media at George's home race? The same media that have been nothing but shady as hell towards him. What the actual fuck!?

I honestly miss the time when George seemed so confident in the car. He seemed so happy, now it’s just been months of struggle alongside piss poor reliability. I hope he can find his groove again as it’s been heartbreaking.

Just once I would love to see George get pole without back handed comments from his team principle, the pundits or a wave of hate from ‘fans’

I am honestly in such a complicated place with the sport as a whole right now.

I so want to see George do well. I love watching him do what he's good at. But I have a strong dislike towards his team. He should be fighting for a world championship, but instead he's fighting his whole team, his teammate being favoured, and issue with his car every race. Not to mention constantly seeing 'fans' pile on him, helped no less by his team. I'd love him to switch but I don't see which team he would go to. Plus moving is a huge risk.

I'd love him to get some look for once. I won't be watching, but please this weekend be kind to him.

I think Mercedes don't realize that we (George's fans mainly) may be reacting now, but it's about the last few years as a whole.

About Mercedes...and Toto especially...constantly feeding him to the wolves, not protecting him against the hate he receives...defending Max over him (Barcelona last year), joking that George and Max could crash and Kimi could win in Canada last year, courting Max so publicly and insistently, keeping the story of George potentially being forced out in the media for months.

Did they even defend him re the whole Alonso break-testing situation? I can't remember.

Giving permission to DTS to air his hyperventilating after Singapore (what was the need?)...there have been so many instances where it has been clear that they don't have George's best interests at heart. I have probably forgotten several.

It is just more blatant than ever now and people have finally had enough.

Mercedes spent years undermining and demeaning George, prioritising his team mates and are using him to calm his fans who have finally starting calling it out on social media. What a joke.
