I made a bee hotel in my garden for my bees. Instead they're sleeping in the Sticky Everlasting (Xerochyrsum viscosum) flowers!

I’m always super happy to Photograph the eloquent Amegilla cingulata (Blue-banded Native Bee). It is estimated to contribute (despite ecological neglect and negligence by Humans) to 30% of crop pollination in Australia. It is at threat from such animals as Cane Toads, the Native Parasitic “neon cuckoo bee” Thyreus nitidulus & of course morons. You can see it in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. It likes to hang out by the Salvia and Sages. But its faves are the Eremophilas and it chillaxes around the old stoney wall near them -- found after entering via the lil gate on North Terrace (just before the side of the Wine Centre). I’ve Photographed it up in the Flinder’s Region too. In person it makes the Invading Colonial Honey Bee seem like a clumsy bum. It is zippy and wiggles its butt when it hovers for just a moment in the same spot.
