i would like to inform everyone that I have probably never loved a book more and will definitely not shut up about this for the next month at least
So was anyone gonna tell me there was a new ari and dante sequel or was I just gonna find out by randomly scrolling through a booktuber reel
so i just finished reading awtwb and i cant stop thinking about how 'this is me trying' fits Simon so well like hello?
I’ve always said that the world is a different place for the heartbroken. It moves on a different axis, at a different speed. Time skips backwards and forwards fleetingly. The heartbroken might go through thousands of micro-emotions a day trying to figure out how to get through it without picking up the phone to hear that old familiar voice. In the land of heartbreak, moments of strength, independence, and devil-may-care rebellion are intricately woven together with grief, paralyzing vulnerability and hopelessness. Imagining your future might always take you on a detour back to the past. And this is all to say, that the next album I’ll be releasing is my version of Red.
Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person. It was all over the place, a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end. Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past. Like trying on pieces of a new life, I went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators. And I’m not sure if it was pouring my thoughts into this album, hearing thousands of your voices sing the lyrics back to me in passionate solidarity, or if it was simply time, but something was healed along the way.
Sometimes you need to talk it over (over and over and over) for it to ever really be… over. Like your friend who calls you in the middle of the night going on and on about their ex, I just couldn’t stop writing. This will be the first time you hear all 30 songs that were meant to go on Red. And hey, one of them is even ten minutes long.
Red (Taylor’s Version) will be out November 19.

So, India is dying.
Look, I know a good number of you are from the US and things aren't amazing there either, but my country is literally on the brink of collapse. So I'd love it if we could talk about that for a minute.
If you can't do anything else, please just read and reblog.

Ok. It’s a political post. Usually tumblr is my safe space but things are getting out of hands (have been for a while tbh).
Farmers in India have been protesting since September against three farm laws that would put them at the mercy of the corporations. These laws were passed without proper discussion and a dubious session in the Rajya Sabha, which is the Upper House of Legislature in Indian government (equivalent to the senate in us gov, i think). Farmers have been protesting in Punjab for 2 months until they decided to protest in the capital of India, New Delhi. Since late November, these people have been protesting outside the Delhi border, in the cold, rain. Over 70 people have died.
On 26th January, the Republic Day, a day celebrated to commemorate the occasion on which the Indian Constitution officially came into effect in 1950, farmers all over the country decided to hold a tractor rally. These protests are organised by multiple farm unions from all over India. One group decided to storm the Red Fort, and raise the Nishan Sahib (not the flag of Khalistan, a separatist movement) in one of the pillars at Red Fort. Some find this problematic because traditionally the Red Fort is where the PM unfurls the tricolour on Republic Day. Some do not because Nishan Sahib and the tricolour have existed side by side. Nishan Sahib is not anti India. Violence also occurred at Red Fort and other parts of the rally. Two culprits have been named in this incidents. Farm unions have distanced themselves away from them because this is not what they had planned and they do not support it. One of the culprits have past connections to the ruling party BJP. Farmers have returned to the Delhi border.
The media has been absolutely useless in all of these. National tv media has labelled the farmers as terrorists and anti national. The media in India is absolutely sold out to the ruling party. Think of Fox News, and every channel is Fox News and tripping on acid. You can compare them to Radio Rwanda. If it wasn’t for digital media, we wouldn’t know the truths. Naturally, they have declared the 26th incidence as something similar to that of the Capitol insurrection, which is frankly insulting. These farmers are protesting for their rights, not some white supremacist believing in a conspiracy theory. Besides, the Red Fort is a public space, not a restricted area like the us capitol. Red Fort is tourist spot, not the seat of the government. Most importantly, the media won’t report on the multiple instances of peaceful protests that happened in the rest of the country, when men, women, and children took part, where the common people of Delhi welcomed the farmers with flowers. There’s no denying violence happened, but that wasn’t the only part.
Now here is the problem. This government has a pattern.
As I said the Red Fort incidence was from someone with previous links to the ruling party. Violence happened and one farmer even died. The Godi media (godi means lap in hindi, since the media is sitting in the lap of the government) has maligned the farmers. On 28th there were “locals” who protesting against the farmers. They pelted stones while the police watched from the sidelines. There’s no concrete evidence, but many believe them to be hired goons to incite violence.
They even joined in the violence.
Arrests have already begun, people are missing and internet has been shut. Last time it had happened, was during the Delhi riots last year over CAA-NRC. Its very likely to happen again.
We need to get more people talking about this, specially in the international community. Spread the word.
Tagging the desi mutuals I can think of. More information is always welcome but please make sure they are accurate. We need to support the farmers guys. They feed us. We can’t leave them alone.
I agree with what you are saying. And I totally agree that we should support our farmers but that doesn’t mean we should support them when they are inciting violence and harming other people.
Even if the Red Fort is a tourist location that does not give the farmers any right to storm the place and lower the tricolour. The Nishan Sahib being hoisted at the Fort was a disgrace to the tricolour.
Now I am not very familiar with what is exactly happening in the media but I do think that what happened on the 26th was not done by farmers alone. Why would farmers become so violent and storm the Red Fort and injure police officers in the process.
Ok. I’m on mobile so I’ll post proper links later (or you can click on the one I have already provided) but the tricolour wasn’t replaced. The Nishan Sahib was raised on an adjacent pillar. The tricolour that is seen exchanging hands wasn’t the one that was hoisted in the Republic Day ceremony. Again, I’m repeating, TRICOLOUR WAS NOT REPLACED/LOWERED.
Clipped video viral with false claim that Indian flag was removed from Red Fort
TRICOLOUR WAS NOT REPLACED.
As to whether, Nishan Sahib should be there or not, well,
It is not anti India.

For those who don't know, the Nigerian government have basically waged war on civilians in response to their protest to #EndSARS which is police brutality
This shit isn't acceptable anywhere else and it sure as hell won't be acceptable in Nigeria
Fuck the president for killing peaceful protesters and just know Nigerians are fed the fuck up and absolutely no good will come to this man for his crimes against humanity

He was a brilliant, talented and upstanding guy. I watched his debut movie when it first came out and I could tell that he was made for this. And now he's gone. people are baffled but is it really a mystery? Bollywood culture fucking sucks! Too much nepotism, too much clique culture and too little spine. And on top of that, mental health is still something of an urban legend. I'm just devastated! RIP man. It's not fair.
