Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
by Robert Frost
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Weirdo pop is right. So uninhibited, like a slightly less insane Ariel Pink, unaware of their surroundings, Phédre just gives into what they are feeling. Combining clanks and squeaks with a terrifyingly sexy clamor of instruments and beats that could bring some serious heat on their own, then melding the whole mess together through an almost monotone, funk glazed caricature of vocals dreamed up in the Ziggy Stardust era and lead by Phedre frontman, Daniel Lee. This group continues to amaze me.

She was bored. She loved, had capacity to love, for love, to give and accept love. Only she tried twice and failed twice to find somebody not just strong enough to deserve it, earn it, match it, but even brave enough to accept it.
