Couldn’t be happier to be home this Christmas (LA never feels very Christmassy!)... and for some great news, Dad has been given the all clear from the doctors & hospital. I obsessed over this wall just a little bit at the California Science Centre last week. Everything in California seems new to me, even in the oldest of areas. This time last year, I was in between visa transitions and was told I couldn't travel internationally until I received my green card. I was so gutted as I spent the only Christmas in my existence without being home with my family. Though I had a great one in LA last year, I am soooo happy that I get to spend another with my close family in London this year. I'm reminded of Christmases past in the same home in the neighbourhood I grew up in. As my parents are close to retiring, I cherish these moments more and more, knowing that one day it may not quite be the same. My heart melted into a gooey mess the other day when my Uncle told me it was his life long dream to see the Golden Gate Bridge and that he had been wishing to go ever since he was a kid. His comments shifted me into a humbling gear, to continue to work hard to make sure those close to me can continue to fulfil their dreams too, and if I can do anything to help that then I certainly will.
