Declan simply chuckled as he overheard the younger girl’s sassy comments to another student, raising an eyebrow. “Now, now, Covie, is that any way to speak to your classmates?” he teased, the basketball coach always lighthearted. Coming over, he gently nudged the other student towards the other direction, whispering playfully, “She may actually eat you if you don’t leave– so I suggest you get out of here.” Turning back to her, he raised an eyebrow. “Someone’s a little hungover, huh?”

“when they’re bothering me, yes.” covie grumbled, bringing a hand to her forehead in a vain attempt to soothe her headache. “oh, no. not hungover, just tired. i’m not a big drinker.” she said with a dazzling smile, although she knew it wouldn’t do anything to convince him she was telling the truth. covie didn’t mind, though. steele rarely gave a shit about those things.
