seeing news about the fallout remaster announcement feels like cruel irony to me

microsoft games are a bds boycott target, and because both bethesda + obsidian are owned by microsoft, this includes the games published by them.

microsoft is gonna further profit from a new virtual playground of ~post-apocalyptic bombed out towns in the desert~ while contributing to creating bombed out apocalyptic conditions in gazan towns, by collaborating with israel on so many fronts that bds calls microsoft the most complicit company in palestinian genocide.

and nostalgia-baited fans will still buy it bc playing pretend in a virtual world thats a knockoff of what real life people are currently facing – a virtual world funded by that very suffering of those real life people – is more important to them than simply playing a different game

Y’all ever think about how, out of all the Death Riders, Yuta got treated the worst despite once being the most beloved? Claudio fell in line immediately, PAC and Marina were also all in, but even when Yuta accepted Mox he got tortured. He got a chair around his neck because he was perfect bait. He got hit and berated and was left alone with Hangman to get beaten bloody. Even Garcia didn’t get that kind of treatment as an unknown Young Boy.

Yuta, who was part of the original BCC. Yuta, who already bled to be part of them, keeps getting asked to bleed and give again and again and again and for nothing. And you can see it in his character now where he stands in the background, doesn’t speak much, takes his licks and walks away with his tail between his legs. He has been completely beaten down to a shell of who he was and if Regal were back I think he might have something to say about it.

Oh yes yes yes the Young Bucks targeting the Death Riders and saying "You haven't changed" and "Kenny can't trust Ospreay and we'll show him that" can lead to one of two things:

The Elite becomes extremely toxic again with all their gold and heinous jealousy issues.

The Elite are the ones who finally push the Death Riders storyline forward by forcing them to break out of this facade that they've changed and that they aren't the same group formed off the death of their best friend and the torture of their youngest member.

unsure if anyone posted this here already, but a lot of folks have asked about the line, “after all these years i can hear his words coming back to me…i’m going to have to find something else to do.”

the line, “you’re going to have to find something else to do” is a callback to an interview Hangman did with Jim Ross in 2019, where, if you can see in the thumbnail, he is wearing the same black suit jacket and a white shirt.

the person who said these words to Hangman was his father, and it was during an anecdote about how his father told him he wasn’t going to stay in the tobacco business like the rest of his family. that he was going to have to find something else to do. it is another reference to Hangman’s new beginning.

a reminder that this was also right before his match against Chris Jericho at All Out to become the inaugural AEW men’s world champion. months after he made the promise at the press conference that he would become the first world champion. it is a promise that he ultimately did not keep.

apologies op about the screenshot but i do want to reply !!!

i do think that we will get a fair amount of time of hangman trying to find his purpose or his worth without the world title. but i am also very aware of the structure of wrestling and i feel like it does not make sense for hangman to hold to his promise.

think about cody holding to his promise. it ultimately caused a structural issue with the show that funneled him out of the rest of it to the point where people believed he should break it and turn heel so that it would stop affecting the show. he didn’t do it bc he’s a pussy (sorry), but he should have.

right now, in this case, it makes sense for hangman to keep himself out of the world title picture so he can grow some stories elsewhere, as i think he can likely help the midcard young players reach the top if they work with him bc he’s a very good storyteller. i know ospreay came in as a top guy but i’ve never found him interesting until the moment he stepped in the ring with hangman, whether to wrestle or on the mic. he just has that ability to raise the standard of other characters.

but back to cody. he kept his promise even when he lost due to another person. it is not the same circumstance but he should have broken it. hangman is only the second person to lose this stipulation. the balance of babyfaces and heels is something that is constantly in flux on the roster, and at some point it is going to become necessary to need hangman at the top again. that is my belief. and he can do it as a heel or a babyface, whatever tony needs to make it work. i fully believe that hangman the shoot person and not the character will do what is needed of him when the time comes. i just don’t see it sticking, but that’s me.

character wise though i agree that it makes sense for him to find a new path and find out what his worth is without it. i am fully in agreement. i just think wrestling works with our cyclical natures and he’s proven that he is not above that, even if he does continously grow with each passing cycle.
