I have never seen anything better than this.

Seeing photos like this give me immense hope. I was never a metalhead but I know all too well how it feels to have hidden myself in an ill-fitting pontailed nerd boy aesthetic before I had the courage to transition and live as myself. Major respect for this woman, I hope my transition can go as well.

PASSING

Passing should not be considered an unrealistic or inappropriate goal for a trans person to want. We call it a privilege because it’s seen as so unobtainable. Not every trans person wants to pass, not every trans person is even capable of fitting into a binary mould, but for those of us who are binary male or female, for those of us who need to pass, it is a fair and worthy goal.

Needing to pass is wanting to have the bare minimum standard of life that cis people have without asking.

Needing to pass is wanting to wear our own clothes outside the house without looking like transvestites.

Needing to pass is wanting to go on a date without having “trans” become the first point of reference someone has in meeting you.

Needing to pass is wanting to be able to choose when to disclose our transness rather than having it constantly displayed against our will.

There is nothing wrong with needing to pass. And for some of us, passing is a life or death matter as much as any trans health care. I cannot live a life being mistaken for a man; some men cannot live being mistaken for women.

There is nothing wrong with not passing and there is nothing wrong with needing to pass. This is for any trans person who doesn’t pass but needs to in order to begin living a happy and worthwhile life.

However long it takes, however much it costs, I’ll get there. And if that’s what you need, you will too.

Wow. Eight wonderful people. Eight inspiring women.

When I feel like passing can’t happen I remind myself with pictures like this. I know Carmen Carrera is a supermodel but even so, the difference between masculine and feminine in her pre-transition to now is staggering and so inspiring. And also holy fuck how jealous am I of her hips and thighs. How many squats and leg presses do you need to do to look that good. Looks like I’ll be adding hip and buttock implants to my list after FFS... and GRS... and BA... Yikes.
