So, I've seen this post from @tpwrtrmnky around and I'm pretty sure I reblogged it along the way.
And it's been bebopping around in my head ever since. I joke at times that I "transitioned too late." And I do wish I'd done it sooner, but I thought I'd share my own glowup in case it might help some of ya'll. This is what transitioning in my 40s looked like for me.
You're never too old to be you!
Trans timeline for no reason at all. Totally not to do with what's going on currently.
If you're early transition, or pre transition and considering it, and you're scared, or lonely, or don't know where you're going and feel lost, or all of the above:
It gets better. I promise you. It only gets better. Maybe not tomorrow, maybe not next week or next month. But one day you'll look in the mirror and realize that the pain you used to feel has lost its teeth, and what's left is only a shadow of what it once was.
And crucially, you don't have to sacrifice the things you love to transition either. Oftentimes, they'll bloom more. My already established interest in hiking has developed into wilderness backpacking.
Through it all, you'll become more you.
Keep going. You got this. I love you all.
2021 vs December 2024 I think the smile says it all.
Timeline photo because it's apparently a bannable offense to show the pipeline of saddest man in the world to happy comfortable content woman
2018-2024
This is your reminder that transitioning after 30 isn't too late. It's never. EVER. Too late.
If you do this for *you*, then don't listen to what anyone else has to say. They don't know your joy. Don't let them have it.
Transitioning saved my life. And it continues to do so every single day. I don't regret not starting earlier - I'm just thankful I started period.
Now I get to live my life.
