Trying to figure out Laurance (with Garroth here too)

AND in regards to my last reblog in the tags. Laurance is punished for trying to worm his way into the narrative. He wasn't meant to be there so all he gets out of it is suffering. His wyvern dies. He dies. His friends and family live for fifteen years without him. His love doesn't love him back. Hes not part of the divine, not like the others are, and all he gets out of it is pain and hurt but he'll do it anyways because better to love and suffer than stand by and do nothing at all

i think others are punished for his intrusion as well!!! his interruption of the garmau dynamic leads to garroth betraying all of phoenix drop in a moment of profound heartbreak, which affects everyone. aphmau's children grow up without her. dante waits fifteen years. phoenix drop falls into ruin. all this too was because laurance inserted himself into a narrative not meant for him.

unfortunately, and i say this as the laurance guy, the world if laurance just died in the nether and never came back:

but i think, like you said with laurance, no one in the narrative would choose a life without him in it. even if it's doomed. because they love him too. it was worth it to have known him. it was worth it to hurt with him if it meant they got to laugh with him

Account rebrand, artstyle change, new Aphmau design (and a new name). It feels like a downgrade from the old version i made in 2024, but I really wanted a design that both "made sense" in universe, and was quick and easy to draw. Shading and lineless art would have eventually driven me mad.
