A lot of people saying 1917 was snubbed. Wether you believe it was Hollywood’s left agenda in being inclusive about an all Korean cast, or its an Anti-Capitalist satirical propaganda film. You cannot take away the fact that Parasite is a supreme masterpiece of filmmaking.
I am genuinely surprised the Academy actually got it right this time. Although I was rooting for the Oscar baited 1917 as I enjoyed it far better on first watch. I came to a conclusion I hadn’t thought of before and that’s; the Action/War genre, and it’s recent movies produced have been... soft. Lack of military strategy, lack of character development, more focused on the mental capacity of a rookie soldier.
Parasite was thematically on point, visually stunning and mentally thrilling. If any of this makes sense. 🤷🏽♂️
