Yesterday I was about two songs into the first set and my A2 turned to me and told me the snare was the greatest sounding snare he’s ever heard with our band. I agreed.

About 20 seconds later I looked down to see it clipping the analog pre on every single hit. I nudge the A2 and point to it and we both start laughing.

And that, friends, is why mixing on a Midas console is such a treat. Yes, even the digital PRO line sounds really special when driven just a little bit too hard.
