hi babes! it’s mari back again with a new character! basically yesterday i was trying to go to bed when suddenly she just popped up in my head??? and i was like...... ok i have to play her. so here are a few things about olivia:
her back story is low key inspired by sam brown from the musical the unauthorized autobiography of samantha brown...... if you’ve ever seen that (lol @ mari and her musicals)
anyway, basically, her upbringing was completely ordinary. she was born in california to a french mother and a cambodian father. both were pretty overbearing and just wanted the best for their only daughter.
so she grew up doing as they said. getting the best grades, joining a million clubs, practicing sports, spending hour after hour volunteering, and just being the perfect daughter
when senior year came everyone was sO SURE she’d get into an ivy league and she had a million acceptances and she was class valedictorian and everything
bUT it all changed the night before graduation. her best friend, who was pretty much the opposite of her, decided that before she left high school she should at least attempt to have some fUN like a normal teenager. but it got out of hand and ended with liv on the er and her best friend dead.
that was traumatizing for liv but it kind of opened her eyes that life was too short and she needed to do what she wanted rather than living up to other people’s expectations
so she just. gave up on the whole college idea and packed her bags and drove away. and for a while she lives driving from town to town with the money she had saved up.
eventually, she settled in stars hollow. she completely fell in love bc it was such a quirky little town and she was just very amused by it. she got a job at al’s pancake world as a waitress and worked her way up to manager, which is what she does to this day.
personality wise, she’s one of those people who talks a lot but like, when u stop to really think about it she’s not really saying anything??? and like, she’s a lil bit eccentric at times. she’s not shallow but it might seem like it at times. she’s just very private and won’t say what she’s really feeling. she has like, three million walls up and while all it takes is a hello for her to consider you a friend, it takes so much more for her to actually trust you.
she’s just scared to care about people and end up losing them?? and she has a really hard time opening up!!!
obviously that affects her love life quite a bit and she can’t make relationships last too long. but tbh she doesn’t dwell too much on that, like, her philosophy is pretty much if it happens, it happens. same thing goes for one night stands.
honestly, i’m not sure what else to say, i’m still trying to figure her out a little, but i think this gives you a pretty good sense of what she’s like. i’m probably forgetting a thing or two so if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask me!! also, hmu for plots or like this and i’ll message you!!
