“Ah, yeah, nice. I mean, s’ppose you’d be facing a lot’a shit in marking, bu’ English were always a decent subject.”
Ella shakes her head. “No, no! I wouldn’t want to embarrass you. The tree it is, then!” Honestly, it’s a relief that they can finally settle on the tree.
“It wouldn’t be embarrassin’, jus’... Yeah, let’s jus’...yeah?”
“Ya don’t want ta know ‘ow I’d respond to your question. We both know I’m not a shy person.”
“Tha’... A’right, I won’t ask ya.”
“And ya know I would never mention tha’ much info, because if I ever do, ya ‘ave every right ta tape my mouth shut and do what ya want ta me. It’d be the least I’d deserve.”
“Listen, mate, if you tell me when you’re shitting, I need you ta know tha’ I wouldn’t do anything to ya. Promise. Jus’ ask how your bowels’re doin’ every so often. In public. Loudly.”

“It don’t sound selfish. Yeah, everyone ‘as shit. Bu’ it’s not about the shit folks ‘ave, it’s about how subjective their experience is. “Alrigh’ mate, it were a joke.” Dean chuckled, shaking his head.
“Yeah, mate, I figured. Bu’ do go on about how attractive you are, yeah? Makes for even better comedy.”
“Yes, makes sense. Think I might be showing my age a bit with the later ones, only seen parts of them because of my younger siblings. Not that I was alive in the fifties, of course, just don’t get to show many Disney films in teaching. It’s the singing teapot one, right?”
“Yeah, tha’s the one. Wha’ d’you teach?”
“No, not that I can see. You scared of them?”
“I’m not scared of ‘em, I jus’ read somewhere tha’ every time they touch down on summat, they shit a bit. I jus’ don’t really fancy being shat on by a bug.”
As Luke heard Julia’s engagement ring drop out of his pocket he turned around quickly, to stop the person behind him grabbing it first. “Don’t touch that,” he yelled out, somewhat aggressively. “Sorry,” he then apologised before they could get offended.
“Don’t touch...what...?” Ollie frowned, confused and startled at having been yelled at?
“I’ve been swamped with trainin’ and shit lately. If it counts for anythin’, I do feel bad for not tellin’ ya. Ya would think after all our years of marriage, I’d ‘ave learnt my lesson.”
“Nah, s’alright, mate. You’ve a life. You know I don’t expect you ta tell me when you shit.”
“Of course your bedroom counts!” She’s quick to reassure him, and then she’s brushing her hair out of her face. “I’d say we could go there if you’re more comfortable?” She’s not entirely comfortable being in his room, but she’ll make do with it. She puts other people before herself. “But the tree is nice, too. And I think the ducks are out, so that’s a plus.”
“Eh...tree, maybe? No offence, ‘sjust...I live wi’ a lot of family and I’d never hear the end of it...”
“Just gettin’ take away for tonight. Got a late session at the Sport Centre. Ya can tag along if ya want, either way. I don’t mind.”
“Fair enough, mate, jus’ thought it’d been a while since we’d hung out properly, yeah?”
Dean paused as he raised the fag to his lips. “Are ya’ wantin’ a fag, or jus’ starin’ ‘cause I know I’m good lookin’, but calm down.”
Having been looking off to the side of a sign he was trying to figure out, due to, y’know, actually wanting to know what the sign said, as it turned out, his eyes were consequentially pointed towards the bloke. “Yes,” Ollie drily commented, his eyebrows raising behind his sunglasses as his lip quirked up. “I am absolutely starin’ at you for bein’ so good looking. It’s absolutely nothin’ ta do with how this is the only way I can read that sign next t’you. Bu’ please, go on about your stunnin’ good looks, mate.”
“Yeah… you may not, or may, want to turn around. There’s three squirrels have a threesome right behind you.”
“Sod it, they’re squirrels. They don’t ‘ave our sense of decency.”
“I know my sister isn’t coping and it’s all my fault. I just don’t know how I can make it better. I can’t tell her I remember her when I just don’t.”
