To suffer for your lover in the power exchange can be a beautiful, sacred sacrament, to be partaken of with reverence, appreciated with awe. Needed for it’s purity, rightness and cleansing
Sometimes I just want to hurt.
Sometimes it’s for him, because he needs to give pain as much as I need to take it. Sometimes it makes my/our pleasure that much more intense. Sometimes it’s all about what I need to let go.
And sometimes I just want to hurt.
Adding Connection, Communication, Consistency, Caring and Commitment ~~
Some of the biggest barriers to equity is humanity's general lack of effort to lean into nuance and be open to change.
Barrier #1: Our brains are wired to categorize and simplify things as a survival mechanism. We try to simplify complex things to better understand them, but end up misunderstanding them because they aren't simple, which then makes us feel stupid, guilty, defensive and shut down.
Barrier #2: By design and reinforcement almost all of us are running ourselves ragged just to survive in a societal structure that doesn't work for 99% of its citizens. We are so tired from our own lives that we cannot take the time and energy to care about others lives and how they are impacted even more by societal inequity.
Barrier #3, We are afraid to confront our own detrimental views and actions, because of the possibility of being shamed. We shut down when called in, either by focusing on allyship as status (I'm woke, I can't be racist, I have black friends... look at what a good white ally I am), or by doubling down on our own experiences with defensiveness and fragility (How can you say I have privilege when I grew up poor?)
Barrier #4: We can be lazy and lemmings. It is much easier to be stagnant, to follow the messages we have been inundated with our whole lives, and watch another episode of TV. It is also easier to get frustrated and call people elitist and high and mighty than it is to spend the brain power to have discussion, challenge ourselves and grow.
It takes a lot of hard work to break these barriers down, to change ourselves and be open to seeing how differently people experience the world based on identity. It takes even more work to see how we benefit from their oppression and to commit to doing something about it. And I say we on purpose.
This affects every one of us, and everyone of us has the capacity to change.
And for that capacity to be realized, it has to be fueled by effort.
White privilege means it is easier to walk through the world because you can not only afford to ignore what others are experiencing, but you can afford to have barriers to even being able to acknowledge that race is a giant unequalizer in our society. makes us blind because cognitive dissonance
POC, brown and black people do not have the luxury of not noticing their oppression because they have to worry they are going to die, see their people murdered, constantly relieve the trauma with every share/reblog of a video and photo, constantly reminding them of the fact that they could die for driving, for bird watching, for going to the corner store, they could all die of BEING BLACK. Being black shouldn't be a death sentence, even if being white isn't a free ride for everyone. Black Lives Matter, and all lives will not matter UNTIL black lives matter.

Power Exchange
It’s making the doctor’s appointment I don’t think I need, because he told me to.
It’s taking a bath, or a nap, when there are a million things waiting, because he takes better care of me than I do.
It’s making a healthy choice at lunch, when a cheeseburger sounds awfully good.
It’s turning out the lights at midnight, even when I don’t feel tired.
There is power to be exchanged through sex, but power exchange isn’t only about kneeling and cock sucking. Like reducing the universe to the stars you can see, there is so much more to it than that. Power exchange is about surrendering your will to the will of another. It’s the little decisions… the ones that aren’t fun, or pleasurable. It’s knowing that you’re capable of making the decision yourself, and allowing him to make it anyway. Every concession is a piece of power pushed over the line, and your clothes never need to come off for you to be left standing naked.
