Piece I did to feature on my business cards!! 😆 My first time having them!! We had to get some printed for our senior gallery show, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I really wanted to make this physically with embroidery and felt, but was running out of time to get it printed, so I opted for a mix of digital collage and drawing!

My last post from this crew of you project! This character was to represent my love of nostalgia and preserving memories through physical mementos over just photos. Reflecting back on that concept, I really like it a lot because it's so true to me. I'm not a big picture taker when hanging out with my friends, but when making scrapbook pages, it's fun to feel the memories through unconventional things like tags, stickers, and receipts. :3 For the piece itself, it was made with borrowed construction paper, colored pencil, one scrap of sparkly holo tissue paper, and a dream. asdfghjk I think the orange fur on the hot pink background is a bit much in retrospect.

Another piece from this crew of you series!!! This character was meant to represent my sensitivity. I feel like the execution of the piece got messed up by some choices. Majorly being caused my time and resources for sure, I had limited supplies I could bring to campus to work on from my dorm room. For me, some stuff I wasn't happy with was that her nose blends in with the bg as well as the big plastic gems kinda taking away the delicate-ness I hoped it to represent. I guess it's not good to show your art and then say what you hate about it 😭😭 but I like reflecting on it and thinking that if I did it now, I could do it better. :)

Everything is hand sewn, but I spent so much time stitching on all these branches, but idk.. I guess the whole piece didn't turn out quite right.

It's fun looking back at my concepts :3 I combined 2 and 4 for this piece, but I really like them both stand alone as well!

I think my professor didn't quite understand some of my concepts, but I also didn't explain them amazingly, but it'd be fun someday to try again with the other concepts I didn't use.

Another art doll!!! I made this two years ago for a cool art class elective! For this one we had to make characters embodying aspects of ourselves using 4 different mediums, the crew of you. This character in particular is about my love of making OC's and thinking about them as my little dollies. :3 I think the head in the clouds motif worked better in my concept, but I'm happy with the execution overall!

I finally graduated this May so I'm trying to find more time to make stuff like this again amongst building up my portfolio!

Long time, no post! 😁 I wanted to post my Art Fight attacks from 2024 on here before posting any from 2025! I tried something new last year and made mainly craft attacks in the form of felt dolls, a felt portrait, a doll repaint, and a pair of earrings! :D I really enjoyed doing this over just drawing! When it’s August, I always think about Kagerou Project!! So here’s a little Takane posca pen painting. Her outfit was mostly from memory though. ALSO, I just really wanted to use primary colors too!

Something different, last year I made this OOAK Lolita puppy girl art doll! :D Every part of her was handmade by me! With a Polymer clay head, fabric clothes and ears, and a wire armature also using apoxie sculpt with a fleece outer "skin" (I've got more progress pics here if that hopefully makes that clearer!! 😅)!

The whole inspiration for her design came from buying one of those random bundles of trim from Michael's that had one cool ribbon that reminded me of those old school Lolita headdresses (which is hard to see in the pic coincidentally asdfghjkl)! I would really like to make more dolls like these, because I've realized overtime that I really enjoy making physical art with my hands like sewing and sculpting compared to just digital drawing. I think the one thing holding me back with this method of making art dolls is how the fragile they are. Even tho they're not designed to be played with or anything, it feels scary even just posing them due to the wire armature, so I'm scared of them inevitably snapping inside their body and being impossible to fix without screwing up the clothes/skin! Even when I use multiple strands of thick wire. 😭 But idk what other method to use.. I like crafting the body over using a base doll so it can be custom, but I wish they had the strength of a fashion doll's plastic body and joints! I tried hand sculpting a BJD this summer too, but the process is definitely a bit more tedious! 😅 Oh well, I guess I just gotta start a journey of trial and error and refining my process!! :3
