I lost my best friend 3 years ago- not lost as in dead but lost as in we only text each other on our birthdays now. Movies and books don't tell you that a friendship dying is like the sinking of a ship, you try to get higher and higher and hold onto the rails and unanswered texts, the captain tries to steer it to safety and salvage pieces of two broken hearts until you're left with memories of what once was. We were friends for a decade and knew each other's diaries by heart, I still remember her phone number and the way she took her coffee. Seeing her in streets is like breathing in a scent you forgot you knew but it immediately takes you back to a summer in '07.
Movies and books also don't tell you that friendships don't just end after one fight or incident, it's like the rusting of a bridge, the slow decay of flesh and bones and secrets. It took weeks, months- until one day I woke up and I realized I hadn't thought of her in a while. And I wrote a poem that day and I titled it 'The dying of a best friend' and I put all my love for her in a tiny box with my half of the matching pendant of a dolphin we had and stored them in a corner of my heart under the heading Grief. Where else can one hide unspent love?
It's been 3 years since I lost my best friend, lost as in I still carry our secrets in a tiny box but we only text each other on our birthdays.

kinda funny when english teachers say stuff like “i can tell if you didnt read the book” or “i can tell when people bs their paper”
no you cant. you can tell when people are bad at bs-ing their paper. i didnt even read the sparknotes and i barely skimmed the wikipedia and you gave me an A. you kneel before my throne unaware that it was born of lies
actually, "autism is a huge part of who i am and i'm proud of it" and "autism is a disability that requires accommodations" are both true statements that can and should coexist

"We were 10 years old. Having dinner, the four of us. When the first shell hits, two floors below, it makes a hole in the floor. It's big. Our parents go in and the whole building starts coming apart. I grab her, roll under the bed, and the second shell hits. But it doesn't go off. It just sits there in the rubble. Three feet from our faces. And on the side of the shell is painted one word:" "Stark."
RESERVATION DOGS (2021 - ) — 1.01 F*ckin’ Rez Dogs
My best friend in the world was on this. He is an actor but also runs the art dept for features and has also worked as an AD and a PA. But I’m so so so excited for him for this- my gay ass BFF was just cast as the ghost of General Custer on this motherfucker and will be acting opposite this talented motherfucker.
The series is written by and cast with a 100% indigenous cast and is hilarious and they also film exclusively in OK on a local reservation. The cast is going to blow up- the youngest booked a Spielberg film when they were at Tribeca- but I am so profoundly impressed by the male lead and how much love was put into this little series and if you’re looking for your next “prestige” dramedy, I urge you to watch it. It’s pretty fucking wonderful, I have to say.
Tldr- watch Reservation Dogs- you’ll love it.
Reservation Dogs is a comedy television series created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi. It is a notable first in that it features all Indigenous writers and directors, along with an almost entirely-Indigenous American cast and production team. It is also the first series to be shot entirely in Oklahoma. The series premiered on August 9, 2021 on FX on Hulu.

*pretends to be shocked but also maybe this will make people realize that Indigenous People Know What The Hell They’re Doing and Deserve Respect*
3 other fun/cool facts about the Inuit:
1. They also invented kayaks and dog booties.
Dog booties are actually really important for working sled dogs in winter to protect their paw pads from iceburn and keep ice from getting in between their toes and burning them that way.
2. The traditional Inuit diet is one of the healthiest in the world, and the most balanced for the ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 consumption
Most modern diets consume way too much Omega 6 and not enough Omega 3.
3. Inuit is a plural noun. When speaking about a single person the correct word is Inuk (always capitalized)
For example, “This Inuk woman is wearing traditional Inuit tattoos”.
And she is wonderful
Never a bad time to remember that indigenous people are wonderful and deserve to have a good day.
finding out athletes have to stop taking their meds for the olympics to compete is fucked up because of how they show up in drug tests. like the common side effect during the transition of anti-depressants is vertigo so like it’s fucked up that you have to choose between your safety and performing. that’s ableist as fuck. professional athletes in the nba, wnba, nhl, pga, mlb, nfl, etc don’t have to do that, why should olympians???
Hell world
capitalism ruined art and entertainment
Keep reblogging this it’s shaming them into prolonging shows
