Oh I have tons of headcanons, most have found their way into my long Whisex WIP, Between the Sacred Silence, if you’ve not read that. Cause that’s pretty much a Whiskey character study.
If you have, let’s see what else? Some of these are probably a bit spoilery.
Well I thought this might end up a little future fic in that series, but who knows if I will get around to writing it, but-
Whiskey never really thought about having kids, but he told Dex when he asked him the first time, to ask again some other time in the future.
The point is, he does come to want them, but only if they adopt and only if the child is also hard of hearing or deaf like he is.
Dex, seeing as I headcanon him having a younger sister who was born deaf, is more than okay with this requirement.
So they start the adoption process. Since neither of them cares whether the child is an infant or and older kid, nor do they care about the child’s race or sex, it goes a bit faster than say…parents who only want to adopt newborn white infants. The fact that they are explicitly looking to adopt a special needs child further expedites things.
When their adoption agent/social worker gives them the profile of a child that she feels would be perfect for them, they swear it’s fate because the little girl is named Luciana, just like Whiskey’s mom’s name was.
Vovó D, Whiskey’s grandmother, teaches Dex all about Brazilian cooking when he comes to stay with them in the Bronx over the summer between Sophomore and Junior year. Though Bitty tweeted how good Dex is about following a recipe, he does decidedly less spectacularly when there is no recipe and he has to rely on ‘You use a little of this, and a little of that, not too much or it will taste like crap.’ ‘How much is too much?’ ‘Oh you’ll just know by sight.’ He does not, in fact know by sight, and Whiskey eventually writes all her recipes down for him to memorize.
Dex signs with the new expansion team, the Baltimore Osprey (I have designed jerseys already for this team- This is, mind you, not the first expansion team I have created with the intention of using in an omgcp fic. I am such a geek. Ask me about the Madison [Wisconsin not Georgia] Muskies.. Go ahead]). And by this time, he is over any qualms he might have ever had about coming out to the world. He doesn’t come out so much as just doesn’t give a fuck anymore what people think.. Due to his hot-headed nature, develops quite the reputation in the league as someone you do not want to mess with because he will drop the gloves at even the slightest chirp about his orientation.
Whiskey may or may not (read: he does. he totally does) base a future comic character on Dex’s on ice persona.
I have so many more, but they are WAYYYYYYYY spoilery for that fic, and even that Dex signs with an NHL team was pushing it.
