Robert was the inspiration for Chucky from the movie Child’s Play, and now resides at the Key West Art & Historical Society museum. 

He receives letters every day from people offering apologies or asking for forgiveness for their disrespectful behavior towards him.

The original owner considered the doll his ‘best friend,’ and allegedly had an ‘unhealthy relationship’ with it well into adulthood. “He brought it everywhere, he talked about it in the first person as if he weren’t a doll.”

People close to the doll say he’s haunted and that he’s caused car accidents, broken bones, job loss, divorce and a cornucopia of other misfortunes. The 2015 movie Robert is also based on the story of the doll.
