I dunno about everyone else but I probably havent changed much at all lmao.  Hell though did we talk before this?? I feel like we did but I dunno, man.

He notices the action, somewhat confused by it, though he decides to just return it. It can’t hurt to do so, after all. “I don’t mind, I’m sure you’ll help more than anyone in my class could.

Ah, well, I don’t mind either way. But I don’t think the teacher would be too happy with the books being written in. They’re his copies.” He looked down at the first page as he spoke. “He’d probably just make me buy it if we wrote in it, though. So if that would be easier, we can do that.

Um, I think I’m doing alright? I’ve never gotten bad marks before…Ah, okay. Well, ‘Max’ is that boy’s,” pointing at the boy in the wolf costume, “name and that ‘a’ means that he’s being described…right?”

[smiling when you bump shoulders with him, his own shoulders relaxing a little. he looks happy, dimple tucking away in the corner of his cheek.] Well, I’ll try, definitely…

Ah, I see. In that case, let me write it out and we’ll work from here. [taking the sheet of paper, speaking clearly as he writes down each word, in clipped English. his handwriting is a little rounded, unlike his usual strong slashing kanji.] The night Max wore his wolf suit and made mischief of one kind–

So. [passing that paper over to you.] That’s Max, you got it. But there’s no “a” there. In English, verbs are structured differently than they are in Japanese– underline them, can you tell which are which?

Kiri chuckled a little, though he refocused on the task at hand quickly. “A-ah, I see.” He was a little flustered now, since he had apparently misread a word, though he wasn’t too surprised. Even if he didn't’ get bad marks, that didn’t mean he was actually too good at this. Joker tended to help him, since it apparently knew all human languages.

“The verbs...? Um...” Kiri studied the sentence for a long moment, his eyes scanning it over many times before he underlined the words ‘wore’ and ‘made’, though he felt extremely uncertain about if he was correct.

He chooses not to comment on whatever language that was in, not wanting to deal with any other foreign languages, especially with how annoying English was. “Alright!”

Kiri takes off his backpack, then sits down next to Io and pulls out the book along with a pencil and some paper just in case. “Thank you, Koizaki”

[a small smile.] It’s no problem. [after a moment, leans his shoulder against yours, briefly, as though like a skittish cat being briefly affectionate.] It’s not that many sentences, so we should be okay, but I haven’t tutored in a while, so go easy on me, okay?

[nodding in approval at the paper.] That’s good if you don’t want to write in it. [meaning the book.] Though it’d probably be easier to write the Japanese on top, so I can copy it over for you if you want onto the paper.

How’s your English grammar so far? Let’s break down the sentence first.

Eh… two weeks, huh.

[twitching his shoulder.] Sure. What’s the name? We can sit and do it.

“Mm, It’s called… ‘Where the Wild Things Are’, I think. I have it in my backpack.”

[koizaki-io]

[brightens a little.] Eh– I know it. Except when Maman read it to me it was called Max et les Maximonstres. That was years ago anyway, but it shouldn’t take two weeks.

[sitting down, tucking his legs up.] Take it out, then, and we’ll start? Uhm, if you have a pencil that’d be good.
