Sunshine, beach glass and swimming as I prep for two days of “Synchronicity” with my Demartini fam. Buddhas teachings share that when you meet “the one” there will not be butterflies, but instead a feeling of recognition and familiarity. I have certainly found family and familiarity in the rooms of this institute, but this time I have butterflies. Perhaps because we haven’t been face-to-face in so long or maybe a flitter of excitement about my top value (learning) and the opportunity for personal growth and new ideas. I’m experiencing an incredible sweetness because of the “togetherness” and sense of “home” I perceive in the group. It makes me realize also all the hugs, open-hearted silliness we share together at OM and what an incredible gift we share together as human beings. By looking in one another’s eyes, embracing one another and sharing tears and laughter; together we experience the rawness and beauty of humanity. Nothing is ever missing, it only changes form. When we perceive something is missing, it’s because we have not yet identified the way it has magnificently transformed and is still in our lives. Media controls the narrative and tells us what to think. Can you imagine a world where media coverage hides corruption and covers sacrificed lives to keep people terrified and feeling powerless? went grocery shopping yesterday. As I walked through the store I observed the new regime by which we are being told to abide being executed the moment I walked through the store doors. These social expectations have been put in place by a government body, no questions asked. I watched as citizens like myself, adorned with masks and gloves (unlike myself) pushed their carts, as if on a Fruit-Veg-Meat-Bread conveyor, each person expected to make up their mind in X amount of time or risk holding up the line. * As Mom and I shopped, Taylor Swift came on the radio; I sang and danced myself through the store. I don't typically notice people watching me because they are caught up in their own stuff. My Mom has either embraced or blocked out my weirdness. Yesterday was different. As I sang at an indoor-voice-private-convert-for-one sound level near the sweet potatoes, a person from the blackberries looked up, shocked. I mentioned that the blackberries were from Texas and they playfully shared their excitement. Communication! Life behind a mask! Someone else who things this is straight-up-Crazy-as-shit? * As Mom turned down an aisle where the arrows suggested we were walking the wrong way 😱 I playfully exclaimed, “You’re breaking the rules!” The oncoming traffic looked up and watched, as if frozen in time. ...There is a glitch in the Matrix!... Immediate correction to the buggy direction, “life is OK again!” *wipes brow* Close One!! * I'm reminded of the the social deterioration in Lord of the Flies. * I remember the Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes Superiority experiment (https://www.pbs.org/video/frontline-class-divided/ ) where students were invited to question their belief systems and the programming they had been taught. * As we turn down the "correct" side of the double aisle, separated by large banks of products in the middle, she needs something on the other side. I suggest that she could scoot between the bins and grab what she needs. She hesitates. “Its only people with buggys, it’s OK! Nobody is moving anyway!” I say, feeling myself become agitated. I often hear clients say, “the Universe will support me” or “I’m waiting for the perfect moment to get started.” The Universe has no clue what you want until YOU have a vision of what you’d love to create and you begin to take action toward creating your inspired vision. Your inspired vision today might be a global vision of service or it may be about showering, getting dressed and preparing a healthy meal. It doesn’t matter what the inspired vision is if it’s yours. It absolutely matters that you take part in it and understand the world you want to live in doesn’t just happen, it isn’t good luck, good genes, or knowing the right people. It’s not about the $ you owe or the $ you have in the bank. Creating the life you would love to live is about investing your energy into daily inspired actions, which support your long term vision. Yes! We are in a time of incredible change. True! We don’t know what tomorrow may bring. Yes! There are benefits to covid, isolation, feeling deeply challenged! Our greatest opportunities for growth are born in our greatest challenges. When you listen to your heart and lean in to the things you love to do most, they places you invest your time, energy & $, what is that idea or vision that stands out in your mind’s eye as the thing you would absolutely LOVE to do? What shift can you make today to support that vision? You don’t have to know how you’re going to get there. You don’t have to have the time / energy / know- how to experience the end result today. We have relied on seeing faces and non-verbal communication for evolutionary survival. We have a biological program running inside of us. This program helps us to see faces and identify predators. It is so strong and essential to our survival that even when there aren’t really faces there, we still see them. This is a false-positive. Think: eyes/faces in rocks and trees or Jesus in your pancakes. We have a predisposition to perceiving these false-positives because it’s safer to perceive a possible predator than to not perceive it. The purpose of this is program is survival; being able to see and analyze faces is to quickly identify predators and keep us alive. When we don’t have the ability to analyze faces, do we stay in a state of Fight/Flight or possibly Freeze, because we can’t accurately or even false-positively evaluate our environment? Do we stay scared and feel vulnerable? Does this make us fear people and forget our humanity? Does EVERYONE become a predator in our animal mind? What does this do for our nervous system? (Keeps it stimulates) What does this do to our hormones? (Keeps us pumping adrenaline until we crash) What does this do to our stress levels? (Increases them) What does this do to our immune system? (Lowers it) ***Our immune systems are built to keep us strong and healthy. Our physical body has its own natural & Free pharmacy; it is consistently working to keep us well. Ask Questions about WHY we are having these new protocols infringed in us. What behaviours are you participating in because you have been challenged and frightened? 6 ft apart? Masks & gloves for healthy people? Healthy people imprisoned in their homes? It’s not safe to go to a park but it’s ok to go to Walmart? Safety in BigBrand stores but not in small business? *I’d like to add that the only time I have put a mask on is for the purpose of these pictures.
