"I guess." She shrugged. "Birthday’s aren’t that much of a big deal to me you know."
His words were usually well practiced and came out smoothly. Carefully. Well measured. Either something was up or he just wasn’t up to his usual verve today because Kasey had stumbled. Not literally, but it may as well had been.
"Welcome to the Kase Kingdom, bella donna! You can chill out here for just a few as I grab something for you, alright?”
Angela was so surprised by the state of the house she could only manage to nod. It wasn’t that it was messy, or in any sort of disarray. It was basically the opposite. There wasn’t a speck of dust anywhere.
"Remind me to never take you to my place."
Kasey brushed his sunkissed hair away from his face. It had been a long time since he had had anyone in here. He didn't know whether or not he should be conscious about the situation as a whole or-- ah, it wasn't in his nature to over think these things. Patting the fake leather sofa that sat near the doorway, he welcomed her to have a seat where she liked.
Annnnd... crap. His eyes just had to happen to stumble at the sight of his old vinyls. Rhapsody in Blue? Shelter from A Hard Rain? Purple Haze? He didn't know if his older tastes were all that appealing nowadays. He skid straight over to his music shelf and casually shifted the vinyls somewhat out of sight.
Laughing over his shoulder, Kasey tried to play it cool. "What? Is my pad too all-over-the-place for you, Ange?" Shaking his head, he pulled himself away from the albums. At this point, she must have already caught him red-handed. Old-man music jammer, Kasey Alistair. Ah yes. He could hear it now.
Slipping past her, he headed just a few feet down the hall into the closet. Pulling out two unwrapped objects, obscured from her sight, he tossed them into his rucksack. Birthdays may have not been a big deal to her, but today just had to be different. To make up for days past.
