his words on your knuckles
16. from the slip, slip, slip of a razor and im falling. her mouth is on fire with the taste of my mistakes, and i crumble around the apology that is leaking from my sight. my best friend cries herself blind, outside. the explosion sounds from our two mouths destroy what i promised to protect. future time is daunting like a jump from a building, with no veiw of the ground or magnetic north or any constellations. the leap of faith lacks any trace of such belief; of self belief. because while they learnt to grow old, we learnt how to not die. fresh blooms of bruises scatter like stars but no more rivers show, when i take myself away to the plane that you cant follow. we’ve been too long without a hallowed breath; just hollow breaths. so i fight to swim and i think: I will survive this year if it kills me

The Front Bottoms (Part B) :VHS editsÂ
(Part A)
me and you, me and you, grammatically incorrect like it should be. you're everything to me, nothing to myself. thats why i love you. god; i wish i could be like you, synonymous with your lungs and laugh and scream. you smile at things done our way. the right way. not right at all way. salt hidden in a smoothie; stars found in a place id never before seen. i fell in that bath that night and brushed my death but you laughed and i showed you the sky because a missing roof and mortality makes me more beautiful. i see only snapshots; we reflect the moment. our way, our way, fights by the lake. you try to push me in so i make you carry the bag of water all the way to its pointless destination. a joke immortal for 5 years too long, we couldn't bare to see it die. a warning sign accosted is my favourite birthday card.
im probably not gonna use this blog again, I've been pretty MIA for ages and im moving over to another writing blog
so yeah, im mostly better. i don't want to die anymore. but sometimes i drink a little too much; smoke a little too hard; stay up a little too long; have a few too many. its fine, i guess, it's just impossible to fill the emptiness with moderation
excerpts from my late night thoughts
Discussion 6/24/16
1. glass-bottom boat
2. reverential sleep
3. my flowering heart
4. waken and glisten
5. the earth hums
1. these are my dreams, this is my hope, my heart: served up on a platter–look, the cosmos is the earth shifted on its axis, we are watching the world below us dissipate and die and we are either too afraid or too caught up in the experience of being alive. what do you see? who is it, really? I just wanted to be big enough to withstand the storm, the explosion, the act of slowly letting the air out of this room–to absorb the impact of all the goodbyes we have been weaving into our art, our poetry, our perpetual goings away. I just  wanted to get something right, for once.
2. in sleeping, in dreaming–we watch the earth shudder into new life, one we are no longer familiar with. I sleep as an act of worship, I sleep as an act of desperation. I think about how you look as tired as I feel, the whole world weighs heavy on our bones, I am Atlas; Icarus, flying too close to the sun, Midas, with his foolish golden touch. an emaciated desire, the crushing heavy the rest of civilization has been misled to believe is pleasure, an orgasm, the climax and then the release. there is no releasing here–but the nightmares, the blood dreams, the way your head swims–and still, we bow to a god we set out to destroy every single day.
3. “he loves me, he loves me not”–I pick apart my heart, dripping blue-blood petals, swollen pink vessels snaking through flesh: once for this, once for that. I think that if I spread myself out enough, if I scatter, disperse, it will look something like love, like feast–like being full and warm. like knowing, but without the fear. I want to touch everything.
4. wake up sunburnt, wake up drenched in sweat, wake up with wild hair in a knot around your head, beside the open window and within the blankets you’ve collected since childhood. all I ever wanted was to be as human as I could ever be, luminescent in my ascending.
5. we talk to each other for hours and I gleam that life is a natural disaster, a supernova. an unearthing. and love is the only thing that keeps us human, still inside of our bodies–but I don’t know where I begin and where all of this ends, I am too free of my own body. we walk through the decrepit buildings of the industrial eastside at golden hour and the light pouring through the shivering frames of once-buildings makes me cry. I hope she doesn’t notice. everything is so beautiful and everything is so heavy. everything feels like goodbye.
im made of salt and sea spray and im held together with the wind that roses your cheeks and i whip at your face and tear at your hair but we’re softer now. its the smell of sea and hope and freedom and a big night with a bigger sky. the sea calls out to you for your tears are the same as its strengths
im angry im angry that my depression took away so much of my youth im angry that the shadows of it will always taunt me the scars i cant be rid of im angry that i let it take over im angry that the people who saw let it take over im angry that they knew but did nothing im angry that they let me fall for so long im angry that they made it worse after assuming the help was done im angry that my friends stopped talking to me and made it worse i did the same to them im angry that ill never truly be over it im angry that im not enough. will never be enough im angry that it took a hospital visit for them to take me seriously im angry that spend so much of my time talking people down not because i dont want to, i just wish they werent in that place themselves im angry that no one ever tried to talk me down im angry that the people i wanted to care never seemed to im angry that they ignored me at my worst im angry that they ignored me all evening that night im angry that they only cared when they saw all the blood the next day im angry that i fainted form the blood loss but no one ever know i still see it when i close my eyes sometimes im angry that i was alone im angry that it took so much from me im angry at the people im not angry at im angry that i never got to be angry im angry that i never got to be angry
its late and im too drunk and i just wanna go home
its become impossible to stay here any longer cause this room is flat and shrinking and the bottles line the floor not far from where we're sitting by the door my heart is beating harder faster slower than the base its barely there is just the thrumming of feet pounding near my face im on the floor now just lying in the mess of limbs and life and the celing is illuminated by emergency lights glowing sickly casting shadows

the danger pond
at my school there’s a pond informally known as the danger pond. not because it’s particularly dangerous; but because of the sign that reads “DANGER POND” with no punctuation. i think it was the deputy head who came up wih the name. no one likes the pond. it’s just there. once a year loads of frogs like to shag there but thats besides the point.Â
when theres a year of little rain, which obviously isn’t frequent sometimes the water drains a bit, but we never see the bottom. slightly strange for a pond around a foot deep. sometimes the water rises quite a bit in a few seconds. displacement, i think they call it.what better place to hide the body than the pond with its own warning
i grew up too fast, and therefore not quite properly
youth lost to mental illness
maybe, maybe they're right. maybe we are too young to be in love. i would say the same. but god knows this is the closest to it i've ever been. and maybe, thats enough for us
at 16 i was cynical of love
