Well, it was nice to know they were on the same page again. Lycus hoped Lysander wouldn’t confuse him too much. A silly thing to think about, and unlikely, but hey, first impressions. And it is a scientific fact that increased confusion is connected to increased memory loss. Complete truth. As far as Lycus had experienced.
“Insane from boredom? We aren’t that boring, Ly…Lys….Lyc- no, no waitasec…” Oh merciful heavens, what was Lycus going to call Lysander. Besides his actual name- nicknames were much more amusing, and easy to come up with. All you had to do was shorten the name to something catchy and maybe offputting. For example, Quinton was known as Quin…or Quint…or Boss. See, easy. But with Lysander, Ly was one of Lycus’s nicknames. And he had claimed it for much longer than Lysander had been in this town, so too bad.
Oh! Lys would definitely work, he just couldn’t pronounce it like lice, and say it like lis.
“Lys.” He declared, his mind settling on that decision.
“Forgetful..? Er, yeah, most of the time. I’m okay at, like, you know, making up for it but I…forgot my stickynotes back in Town Hall..” And a quick search of his pockets showed that there were no useful scraps of paper or a pen.
Next was to consult the To-Do list to see what he needed to buy.
” Pancake mix, things that go with the pancake mix, waffle mix, sour candies and lemonade” Lycus listed off. Some were for him, some for Quinton, but the items together made days of paperwork slightly more bearable- at least, the candies and lemonade and waffles did. The abrupt request for pancakes was odd, though.
