Tips On Putting Pillow Combos Together
Putting pillow combos together can be very confusing and frustrating. The number one request we get asked the most is help with creating a combo for someone's bedroom or living room. Here are some tips to help make the selection process easier for you, hopefully you find this helpful!
Tip #1 - Start with a color palette. You can draw colors from your rug, curtains, or sofa and work off of those. Creating a mood board or flat lay of all the colors can be helpful.
Tip #2 - Mix up the sizes and colors to add layers to your room. When putting pillows together for our clients we use larger pillows in the back of a sofa or bed (like a 24x24 or 22x22) and add a slightly smaller pillow in front (22x22 or 20x20). Use a lumbar to tie it all together. A great size lumbar for the sofa or bed is a 14x20 or 12x24.
Tip #3 - Mix small prints with big prints to avoid competing patterns. Try not to put the same type of print next to each other (busy patterns next to simpler patterns work well).
Tip #4 - Add in neutrals or solids to tie everything together and balance out the room.
Tip #5 - Use numbers to compliment your style. Do you lean towards a classic, more traditional look? If so, use an even number of pillows. For a more modern or eclectic look, use an odd number of pillows.

Juju Hats
African Juju Hats have become very popular over the last few years in the interior design world.
Juju Hats have been featured in numerous interior design magazines such as Elle Decor, Domino, and many other publications as well as bloggers and influencers' homes. Juju hats are used to create a focal point that will perfectly match existing room decor and color scheme, usually placed above a bed or mantle.
Traditionally worn by African royal dancers during important ceremonies, the headdress known as the Juju Hat, or Tyn Hats from the Bamileke tribes, is a symbol of prosperity.
Our handmade African Juju hats are made in 2-3 days from master weavers in Cameroon. One Affirmation offers the largest selection of Juju Hats in all colors and sizes.

How to Easily Put Pillow Combos Together
A very popular question we get asked a lot by our customers is help with putting pillow combos together. This can be very difficult and confusing if you are anything like me and know nothing about design (luckily my sister and business partner went to school for interior design, so she knows a thing or two about this stuff). I asked her for her tips on putting together pillow combos and here is what she said:
Tip #1 - Start with a color palette. You can draw colors from your rug, curtains, or sofa and work off of those.
Tip #2 - Use different sizes and colors to add layers to your room. Don't be afraid to use larger pillows behind smaller pillows and a lumbar in between. You can never go wrong with a mix of 22x22 and 20x20 for your sofa, with maybe a 12x24 mixed in. Layering is fun and your friend!
Tip #3 - Prints can be tricky so here is a good rule to stick with - mix small prints with big prints to avoid competing patterns.
Tip #4 - Add in neutrals or solids to tie everything together and balance out the room.
Tip #5 - Numbers are your friends. For a more traditional look, use an even number of pillows. For a more modern or eclectic look, use an odd number of pillows. Here are some pillow combos we put together at One Affirmation to help you, hope you love!
The possibilities are endless! x
