He grabs his trunk, his messenger bag and his backpack and looks around his room one last time before he pulls the door open. He’ll miss the house, his siblings and Josie. But if he wants any chance at happiness, he needs to go. He walks into the hallway as quietly as he can, shuts the door behind him and locks it before walking down the stairs. He has a few hours before his train leaves from Manchester railway station, and hopefully he’ll be out of England before anyone realises he’s gone.

When Louis runs away from the life he's been raised for, ending up in Mullingar is a lucky coincidence. He finds the warmest group of friends that welcome him in their midst, except for that one Omega that he's attracted to from the first second. Unfortunately, Nick has decided to hate him.

When he plays the lead role in his school musical, he is scouted and gets the opportunity to audition for the high-ranking Royal Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. Louis never expected to find himself travelling to London alone at the age of 18. On the day of his audition, Louis - quite literally - runs into Harry Styles in the toilets. Harry Styles seems to be anything but a normal boy, the polar opposite of Louis, popular with everyone, talented at everything. Harry seems to fit where Louis doesn't. In a high-pressure environment, it's only a matter of time until masks fall, though.

There’s been three years since he‘s seen Louis, and it feels like he‘s watching a totally different person. The cracks of the Louis he knew are still there, he can still see his Louis. He still knows the quirks, even if they‘ve shifted over time.

Louis is masking his emotions, he‘s always done so with Harry. He never let on more than he allowed himself to, not wanting to bother Harry. It took so long for Harry to break down that mask, and it hurts to see it‘s been reconstructed. This mask seems stronger than his old one.

„So that’s why you‘ve crashed my tour?“ Louis tilts his head to the side, face still emotionless. „To win me back after three years? Do you really think that’ll work?“

Some even use major life events as check points, from graduation to marriage to having kids.  Harry thinks of his life in three chapters: before Louis, during Louis, and after Louis.

harry had it all. a successful solo career, amazing friends, a wonderful partner. when his partner of 10 years breaks up with him out of the blue, he convinces himself it was mutual to cope. when he realizes that he’s still in love and the breakup was never mutual, he does what he should’ve done before: fight to be with louis.

“Do you miss us?” Louis asks suddenly, yanking Harry violently from his memories, realising with a start the song had ended a while ago and Louis had already pocketed his phone again. Harry blinks furiously, trying to keep his eyes dry. His heart twists painfully and angrily, and Harry wants to scream, how dare you ask that question, you were the one that didn’t want to fight for us, but he doesn’t dare say a thing because it wasn’t just Louis, Harry was at fault too, and Harry thinks if he talks he won’t ever stop. Louis is still looking at Harry, an unreadable expression.

“Of course.” Harry whispers, and tries very hard not to cry. He isn’t successful, and ducks his head, hearing the shuffling of Louis getting up from the ground and shoving his hands into his pocket. Out of the corner of his eye Harry can see the hints of dawn creeping in and he sighs heavily, forehead leaning on his knees.

Ed winds up dragging the otherworlders with him to Resembool, where the wedding celebrations are going to be held, while he figures a way to get them home again.

Louis most definitely uses black magic, but Harry believes him when he says he didn’t kill anyone. Can they prove Louis’ innocence before the real killer gets to them first?)

He looks up and swears his heart stutters in his chest at the sight before him. Gorgeous blue eyes shine in the lights of the engines, and a collection of crinkles by his eyes are the first things Harry notices. He has to force himself to look away quickly before he’s caught gawping at a stranger. He would stare at the man for the rest of eternity if he could.

or the one where firefighter Harry Styles moves to Denver, Colorado to escape his personal demons in New York. He meets police officer, Louis Tomlinson and sparks fly.

Louis snorted. "Cheers, love. Wanna know more or are you done with dad bullshit for tonight?" Harry pouted. "There's more? Jesus, I feel like you need a joint or something." "Wouldn't say no honestly," Louis sighed. "But yeah. The baker cancelled the cake order last minute," his voice may have wavered a little at that. He wasn't going to cry. Louis was not the kind of pathetic sod that cried to bartenders. "Oh God," Harry gasped, pure horror in his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Louis, fuck. Being a single parent sounds so much, I have newfound respect for my mother." Louis froze at that. Single parent? He laughed internally as he realized that it was a perfectly valid assumption to make when Louis was clearly the one dealing with all the fires. "Shit, sorry. Was that insensitive? I tend to put my foot in my mouth a lot. I meant it as a compliment, I swear. You're doing so well. Much better than I would be, for sure!" "I'm married," Louis said quietly. "To my daughter's mum. I- I'm not a single parent," he explained, his voice sounding faraway even to himself.

Hey, Harry did say on Ellen his guilty pleasure was working out to One Direction, and if “working out” means drowning in memories under the night sky because Harry can’t seem to sleep like a functioning adult anymore that’s between him and the Thames. Well, him and the Thames and Louis, now. Or, Harry and Louis listen to Up All Night over some random midnight mornings and forget to forget.
