I get it
Listen, I get where people are coming from with ch. 47. That it seems hypocritical and just can come off as Seiya not really accepting of Touma. And the whole chapter was just his speech, so I understand people were expecting more from Touma as well but listen. How many of those who are in the closet or are already open about their sexuality can tell you that this is fear #1. Especially for teens? Or those dependent upon their guardians? That your sexual orientation or gender identity well have you lose the one place you called home? That your family would disown you and put you out? That you'd be on your own and then what? How would you survive? What about school? Your friends? Your whole life?
And sure, Seiya seems like hes totally not on board with what he clearly suspects. But I really think it comes from a place of love for his little brother. Hes afraid for him, since he knows how the world views people who are lgbt. But he tells him he wont disown him, and all he wants is for him to be happy. That the house is safe, is his refuge and he wont have to run from it. He wont force him to confess anything to him, and blames himself for why Touma feels like he cant talk to him and idk. Maybe I'm just projecting as an eldest sibling but. I think this chapter was really good, and something that some of us would wish we could've heard from our own families.
