Cora: The royals left before us. They went early, thank God. But I've decided I won't visit anywhere you're not welcome.
Several months ago it occurred to me that what I really wanted for my birthday was Awesome Art Nouveau Downton Art. And so I dropped a line to my absolutely awesome friend and former roomie who also happens to be a raving Mucha fan and requested some. Any character! Any pose! Any colour scheme! Didn’t matter, just please, for the love of aging, more awesome art!
I could not, no matter how hard I tried, be happier right now.
Feel like having this at the top of my blog again…
Modern technology at Downton Abbey // updated (the fridge has been there earlier but the electric one you could actually use in a “modern” household was invented in the 1920s. Radio transmission has been around longer than 1909 but the first radio programme started broadcasting in 1909. Yes, the typewriter is that old but only in the late 19th century did they build the model we see in that pic.)
