Could you please reblog this if you are a witch who isn’t Wiccan?
We need more Witches to share their non-decorative and not super organized grimoires. We have to show the community that grimoires don’t need to be super artistic to be valid! While I love seeing the talent and artistry some witches possess, it really does fuck with my perfectionism seeing just nothing but beautiful perfect grimoires. And I know i’m not the only one. We have to start normalizing the messy, chaotic, plain, and imperfect grimoire!
Grimoires are like study notes - find a system that works best for you :)
Taking inspiration from other people is great, but in the end, it’s you who you are doing it for. 💙
You’re correct but the point of my post is to encourage witches to SHARE their grimoires regardless of what they look like.
Because there are plenty of posts telling witches how their grimoires don’t have to look a certain way but tbh that is kind of meaningless when the only images you see are of pristine beautiful artistic grimoires. Especially for those of us who suffer from perfectionism.
If how a grimoire looks doesn’t matter than why isn’t there more variety being shared? I want to see more images of imperfect, messy, non-decorative grimoires! They deserve to be showed off just as much as the “pretty” ones!
Okay, so in mine, the stary is a few spells and such. I also have stuff on jerbs, more spells somewy in the middle, the Gods, symbols, more plant stuff, stones ect. I just open to a section that feels right and start writing. So I can never find anything, but oh well lol. I do want to organize it, but it isn’t a priority atm.
Also, I randomly was like, “okay, these leaves go here” lol
I freakin love your grimoire!! Thank you for sharing it!!

What to ask tarot
So tarot card questions are actually a lot different than asking a specific question. You wouldn’t say, for example, “Is my dad going to graduate?” because if you got the 3 of cups, you would be utterly confused as to why I did not provide a yes or a no. So below I am going to list questions that are good to ask the cards.
• I’m at a fork in the road. Which way should I go?
• How do I weigh out the choices I have? What are the Pros and Cons?
• What do I need to know to make the best decision? What do I need to know?
• What do I need to know about a situation with a family member?
• What do I need to know about my love life?
• What do I need to know about my career?
Moving forward
• How do I move forward in my career?
• How do I move forward in my relationship/ love life?
• What is coming forth in my life?
• Which foundation is the strongest to build on in my life?
* What should I do?
• What should/ shouldn’t I do about a situation with my job?
• What should/ shouldn’t I do about a situation with a friend or family member?
• How can I restore my hope for the future?
• What overall positives do I bring to my life?
• What positives do the people in my life provide me?
• Is there meaning in my life?
• Is there love in my life? Hidden Elements
• Are there things I am ignoring that are important?
• What am I not seeing?
• What is holding me back?
• Are there truths that I am denying?
• Are there things that I see that are untrue?
• What important things have I forgotten?
• What could get in my way?
• What is most important for me to get done?
• How will a certain occasion or event turn out?
• What will be the best way for me to communicate with certain people?
• What should I learn from my past?
• What is the impending future telling me?
• What cycles am I stuck in?
• What have a learned from my past?
• Where am I strongest?
• What should I look out for?
I hope this helps!!!!

Saturn’s Lessons ⏳🌟
Where Saturn is in the houses will signifiy life lessons for the chart holder to learn, this may be painful but it can also be incredibly rewarding. Of course, there’s numerous other factors in a chart that point to personal development like Chiron and Pluto but as of now, I want to analyze the lord of time. I will also give some insight into how I would see the developed incarnation as to show it in a positive light.
Saturn in the 1st house: The ego may be fragile when younger which shows an inclination to want to be stronger as one ages. Very dependable, may come off somewhat serious, and self depreciating. What this Saturn can do to help themselves is try to let in compliments, and try to see if their boundaries that they’re so dependent on are healthy or not. Ideally, they would come off as a very strong, impressive presence for others to look up to and even though they can assure those inspired by them that it isn’t easy, it’s important to remember that making so many dreams come true is possible. They can let themselves be beautiful in their own way. They can own their flaws but not define themselves by these too much. When the individual remembers others compliments and genuinely believes them even though people come and go, then they’re on the right track.
Saturn in the 2nd house: Poverty, worries about money, and one’s love life may all be connected for this person. They base their self worth greatly on their appearance and accomplishments which doesn’t necessarily have to be unhealthy but it can be when one goes overboard. They need to know what life boats are stable and which aren’t, who they can depend on and who will take from them. There is a need to learn one’s self worth whether in a relationship or not as this is a Venusian house. They need to let themselves spend on themselves and allow others to buy them gifts without feeling overly guilty. Saturn wants this native to own their success and give back to those who really need it, cultivate good karma. Saturn wants them to step it up when wonderful opportunities come knocking and not be scared to take chances if their gut says it’s right. This person must value themselves beyond currency, beyond appearance and once they know that they are deserving of love in their soul and doing good in the material world, Saturn will allow them to prosper significantly.
Saturn in the 3rd house: Not being able to speak up for oneself when younger, perhaps to siblings, parents, and teachers affects this person greatly. They may feel held back from sharing their thoughts, questioning if these are good enough to share with others or they should be ashamed of their own mind. What they may not see is how intelligent others perceive them, how impressive academically. This person may feel like intelligence comes from blood, sweat, and tears but they can learn to be easier on themselves and appreciate it, own it when they’ve been clever and cool. They can let themselves be funny in a dry, sarcastic, realistic sense and sometimes even laugh at their own jokes without holding back. The thing about communication is that it gets easier the more one partakes in it, the nervousness before speaking may be there but as one develops, it can be a sign of nostalgia and empathy for their younger self instead of something to beat themselves up about. They must let themselves be te realistic enough to give themselves credit where it’s due and see that they deserve respect not only from others but from themselves.
Saturn in the 4th house: Maternal conflicts may arise for this person, maybe feeling like they aren’t good enough to be accepted by their family along with numerous misunderstandings. This Saturn can let themselves improve by seeing that their ego may be better off if they mother themselves, protect themselves, and mature earlier on. They can create a familiar, safe haven for others when healthy but they must do so for themselves first. Whether they can make peace with their mother or not, they must see where relationship dynamics are unhealthy and be wary of subconsiously seeking out similar energy from others. They can appreciate what they have been given in childhood while building up what they wish would be better for their future children, making a home they can be proud of. Easing up to those who haven’t hurt them and being wary of themselves mirroring familiar but unhealthy behaviors may be very relevant. They should ideally see that they are very deserving of love and family, however they will find the need to build that up. As they work on themselves, they can become a very strong, superhero of a mother which can encourage their children to feel protected and encouraged.
Saturn in the 5th house: Being held back from having fun, humility, and afraid to shine when younger may be common themes. The imagery that comes to mind when I think of this placement is the trope of a wonderful singer being afraid to show themselves because they are so critical and don’t visualize what they’d be capable of in the spotlight. Shying away from parties and being skeptical of those who raise their egos too much earlier on, this Saturn must let themselves have some fun and be the star of the show sometimes. They don’t have to be driver at the party all the time because they deserve to relax and unwind too. As long as it is done so safely, they may end up feeling amazing. Learning to treat oneself, be happy, and carefree is a major theme. Saturn can have fun while being self controlled to some degree as long as they find the right friends and can see who’s being real with them. Understanding the people around them and fitting into a satisfying social circle where they are appreciated, can give this Saturn some peace along with let them enjoy their own ego in a healthy way.
Saturn in the 6th house: Taking care of others before themselves, focusing on chores, and helping are things this person may be highly inclined to. They must be careful as to not forget their own health in their selflessness and understand that people are not only impacted by their actions but by their words too. This individual must allow themselves to speak up when they want something, so after it, and take care of themselves like they do others. They deserve to relax and not think about day to day things sometimes and if they can do that then they can really avoid or recover from burnout. Saturn asks the individual to learn to be comfortable with their physical body here which means making peace with who they see in the mirror, flaws and all till the wonderful moments where they could feel flawless! Saturn asks to appreciate one’s intelligence and be wary of being used by others with all their pouring out, learn to ask others to give too. They must balance how fair relationships go and define dynamics in order feel comfortable. This person must recognize their self worth and not sacrifice themselves or their health for less, really learn to ask of effort from others instead of complaining that it isn’t there. If they can appreciate the physical things they have and learn to take compliments, then they can be happier.
Saturn in the 7th house: Waiting for the one true love, craving for true love after numerous heartbreaks, and being afraid of being loved are things this person must learn to overcome. They need to let themselves see what unhealthy habits they’re carrying into relationships, understand that sometimes it’s necessary to let go of the past to enjoy the future. This placement really calls for waiting before jumping in to romance and although that must be balanced and healthy, it can really save a person from unnecessary pain. They go through similar situations in order to learn that they must love themselves before they can be fulfilled by another person, date themselves and see what toxic traits must be grown out of. Appreciating what their partners, friends, etc. are doing right instead of doting excessively on what’s going wrong can go a long way. This person can feel happy when they are mature enough to handle a healthy, loving, and wholesome relationship and not take it overly seriously, be friends too and have fun. They can feel satisfied being part of a couple that others look up to when healthy, teaching others how to love selflessly as well.
Saturn in the 8th house: Intimacy, physical closeness, sharing finances are things this person may worry about. They feel exposed when close to other people and may possibly feel embarrassed of their impulses. They need a large amount of controls of themselves in order to feel safe, not wanting to be taken advantage of or have another too close for comfort. They may need to own that asserting their boundaries and going at their own pace with intimacy is okay, they can wait to share what they want to. This is someone who would usually be guiding their loved ones, reassuring them, but needing to be the one to assert closeness or otherwise they feel nervous. However, when Saturn can see who’s deserving of their trust and looks up to them greatly, then they may encourage them to come closer without holding back as significantly. They can feel at peace when opening themselves up to give to others without having to sacrifice so much of what’s personal to them, like giving to charity can actually help them feel better about handling money. This Saturn can ironically be seen as very powerful and in the lead in close relationships so they may need to own it when others follow them and assure them that they’re more loveable than they may feel.
Saturn in the 9th house: Challenges with studies, trying new things, and opening themselves up to others emotionally. This person may be very reserved, wanting to handle their own problems and needing to learn to ask for help when they need it. They may struggle with classes but still could seem like an impressive student to those who don’t see the intense labor they put in to succeed from closed doors. In order to improve themselves, this Saturn may need to learn to let themselves take breaks when they need it, similar to Saturn in the 3rd. They may be very careful as to not hurt themselves which can inevitably lead to things happening out of paranoia. This person needs to find the balance between their comfortable inner circle and the outside world in order to find peace, engaging in calming things like meditation may benefit them greatly. They can be very intelligent in what they have a passion for, must learn how to make other subjects more interesting so they can get through them. They can also let themselves open up when they logically evaluate and intuitively feel like it’s right because who’s willing to wait will be worth it. They want to be lead on adventures but they must overcome fearing such and then they can fulfill their dreams.
Saturn in the 10th house: Paternal approval, public persona, masculinity, and reputation are things Saturn in the 10th considers often. They want to be someone outstanding and wonderful but they must not be so afraid of opening up and being emotionally open to others. They can filter what healthy lessons are alright to take from their father and what habits are outdated in order to become the kind of person they would’ve looked up to as a child. This usually comes with learning the value of both right brained emotional labor/emotional intelligence and left brained logic. This Saturn can teach others and find great satisfaction in it, although needing to accept it when others compliment them. If they can find peace with their own ego, then they can help make the world a better place. This person nay grow up to be an amazing parent like Saturn in the 4th although perhaps in a more traditionally masculine sense. They can be the provider archetype that teaches children the value of hard work but work must be balanced with rest. Saturn is at home in the 10th house, which in most cases makes it a more easygoing placement because the individual owns the time lord’s lessons naturally.
Saturn in the 11th house: Needing to learn how to make friends, being seen as externally very serious, and a reserved attitude would characterize a young person with this placement. They may be looked up to by Mars types and struggle understanding the sensitivities of Venus types. This person must understand the value of validating emotions overall and performing emotional labor. They can be a very reliable, amazing friend but they need to see who’s willing to do the same for them and recognize it when they need to raise their standards. They may be a leader of their friend group but leading themselves in the right way is a whole other matter. Seeing when sensitivity may be needed, how real strength comes from helping those more vulnerable, can teach this person a lot. They can own the sensitive parts of themselves and come off far more well rounded this way.
Saturn in the 12th house: Cynicism towards dreams, questioning identity, and needing to make a lot of effort to befriend one’s subconscious is what I’d see this person going through. Their subconscious will communicate with them painfully when they are going through stress or perhaps shut off overall. In order to improve, they must let go of some of their harshness towards spirituality, starting with valuing their own peace and exploring their psyche even in an analytical way. This person may benefit from studying psychological rules in order to tackle underlying problems as they can learn from their subconscious better this way, make peace with it. They must see their ego in an individually valuable way, figure themselves out regardless of other’s influence. Like Saturn in the 4th and 8th, they may need to recognize how comfortable they are depending on how distant they are from others while seeing that it can benefit them to be nurturing and soft. This person may become more developed as they enjoy their dreams or at least make peace with them while learning to just be themselves without losing themselves.
If you have Chiron, Capricorn, or Pluto in any of these houses then you may relate to Saturn manifesting in those as well although my focus is on the time lord. I hope you enjoyed reading and can let the paternal planet guide you towards self acceptance and health!

How Magic Works
These are just some of many different theories about how spells work. For anybody who really enjoys “magical theory” like I do or is looking for validation that there’s something to all these weird spells! None of these serve to discredit magic, but rather add a deeper level of understanding to it. The success of a spell could be credited to more than one of these, or something else entirely!
Law of Attraction. Basically, the idea that you attract what you focus on. A popular example is focusing on the color red, and seeing how much red is around you that you didn’t notice before. This is most effective for spells involving personal matters and success, by formally opening your eyes to details and opportunities you may have missed otherwise.
The Placebo Effect. It’s a proven fact that our bodies can heal ourselves merely by belief that what we’re doing helps! This can extend beyond health spells to things like confidence, performance ability, and other things that aim at personal improvement. The placebo effect may be all that spell needs to be successful ( and it wouldn’t have happened without the spell!)
Direct cause/effect. Something about the spell and the way it was cast directly affects the outcome. Example: a sigil designed for protection, when looked at, serves as a constant visual reminder that you are protected, subconsciously strengthening your wards.
Science/chemistry. This is most true for kitchen witchery and herbalism. Chamomile, lavender, and other herbs aren’t corresponded with calmness and sleep for nothing… they’re made up of chemicals that have been scientifically proven to calm the nerves and aid in sleep!
Quantum physics. There’s a phrase called “Quantum Woo,” where people use quantum physics (often incorrectly) to explain any type of magical thinking or practice. While the ultimate theory behind quantum physics was recently disproven, the discoveries made through research still hold true. Basically, we know particles behave differently when observed, and our energies can effect this. We just don’t know why that is. This is the baseline behind a lot of energy work.
Divine string pulling. Ask and ye shall receive. This is where we depart from the physical to the spiritual side of magic. Many people do magic by appealing to divine forces, Mother Earth, God(s), the Universe, whatever you want to call it. This could be with an offering, a ceremony, or even just bedside prayer. The divine force hears the request, and grants it by affecting change and “pulling strings” to cause the desired outcome.
Spiritual string pulling. Very similar to the previous point, but with entities that are not worshipped or seen as divine. Many believe that spirits can still affect change “behind the scenes.” A spirit worker may make a deal with a spirit for luck or protection, or someone may ask their ancestors for good fortune and health.
Personal string pulling. Instead of asking an outside entity, this is the idea that we, as the practitioner, pull the strings. This is most seen through the “cone of energy” method of casting, where we raise a lot of concentrated energy and intent in a space, then release it all at once to do its thing. You also see it with sympathetic magic, where by doing something to a poppet, we actively affect that change on the target. No middle man included.

Teas for Witches: the Basics
I can talk about tea literally all day (and I have because I’ve worked in a spice and tea shop for years), and there is SO much to talk about with both health and magical benefits. Teas are made from tea leaves called camellia sinensis, with the exception of herbal teas/infusions. For this, I’m going to list magical and health benefits by type of tea.
Black Tea
Feminine * Earth * Winter * Strength * Stability * Death * Expelling Negativity * Alertness * Energy
Black tea is the most fermented and oxidized of all teas. Its tea leaves look shriveled and black. It combats heart ailments, digestive problems, high cholesterol, asthma, and breast/menstrual problems. Black tea also has a lot of caffeine (47 mg, still less than coffee) and too much of it can cause acidity issues in the stomach.
Examples: English/Irish Breakfast Tea, Assam, Darjeeling, Lapsung Souchang, Ceylon, Earl Grey
**There is a subset of black tea called Pu-erh, a post-fermented black tea. Some consider this to be the “purest” of all teas and connect it to the aether, as it is rare and valuable.
Green Tea
Masculine * Fire * Summer * Passion * Healing * Conscious Mind * Sexual Health * Love * Energy * Progress * Magic
Green tea is slightly steamed but not fermented, which maintains its green color. It has many health benefits, such as detoxifying, reducing cholesterol and weight, boosting immunity and stamina, and reducing blood glucose. It has less caffeine than black, but still some.
Examples: Jasmine, Sencha, Matcha, Gyokurocha, Genmaicha, Hojicha, Gunpowder, Dragonwell
Oolong Tea
Feminine * Water * Autumn * Reflection * Meditation * Wisdom * Serenity * Concentration * Romance * Friendship
I always describe Oolong as being between Green and Blacks, since it is half fermented. It can help manage weight and stress, balance blog sugar levels, remove free radicals, and promote healthy skin and bones. HOWEVER, too much can actually speed up bone degradation because it sweeps away excess calcium. And beware of its high caffeine content (I used to drink Raspberry Wulong to pull all-nighters).
Examples: Milk Oolong, Formosa, Wulongs
White Tea
Masculine * Air * Spring * Happiness * Wisdom * Moon * Purification * Protection * Clarity * Cleansing * Beginnings
White tea is a little harder to find. Either the tea leaves are plucked as immature leaves and steamed, or the leaves have not been processed (there seems to be little consensus across cultures). Some have a small amount of caffeine. It’s a great antibacterial and antioxidant, and it improves the heart, oral health, and skin. Drinking a couple cups works better than one, and you can reuse the tea leaves, granted that the second cup will brew longer.
Examples: White teas come in many flavors and are usually labeled as white tea. You may need to seek out a tea shop to find some.
Herbal Tea
Magical properties depend on which herbs are used
This tea seems to be the most popular for witches on tumblr, because it is composed of dry, unprocessed herbs, seeds, fruits, or roots, and has no caffeine (as long as the herb doesn’t!). There are many recipes online as herbals are easy to make. In general, herbal tea promotes calm, reduces cholesterol and risk of heart conditions, cancers, and diabetes. Due to its lack of actual tea leaves it has less antioxidants than other teas. Some don’t even call it a tea, but dub it Herbal Infusion.

**Yerba Mate is an herbal tea that is notorious for its high caffeine levels (you’ve probably seen the energy drink). It also zaps one’s appetite and can become addictive, so be careful around this tea!
As always, feel free to add/message me of any corrections, and I hope you find your cup of tea!
