It's been ... decidedly too long, but chapter 9 is finally out

On February 28th 2024 at 10:58 AM I wrote down the entire plot of The Quintessence of Dust.

That was 20 Days after I had started the fic

On March 08th that same year I posted the 8th chapter and then abandoned the fic.

You know how it goes, the overwhelm sets in, the hyper fixation changes. And I am sorry about it.

For more than a year I looked back at the project over and over, trying to get myself to continue - and I am doing just that now!

Is that because of season 2? Kinda, but not really. To be quite fair, I have only seen the first 4 episodes of season 2 so far and while I did enjoy them, they haven't managed to suck me in the same way season 1 had. But I still want to try and continue my fic, even though it won't be season 2 compliant at all.

I have no expectation that anyone will return to the fic, I mean I did leave you all hanging for close to two years and it's more than understandable that Not everyone sticks around for that long, but hey, I am a little proud of myself that I managed to start working on it again. And I have written a big chunk of chapter 9 already.

So good times ahead? Hopefully!

Oh dude, you coming back to the fic? It's a damn good one, and it's totally understandable that sometimes we just lose interest, it burns out, or we get new interests that take precedence. But you're a talented writer, so I'd be interested in seeing what all else you do, too.

Fun fact "Apple" is the nickname Adam gives Charlie in my fic (though it will still take a lot of chapters for us to get there)

I hope Sir Pentious builds Lute a new arm! I don't know if he would ... since they are enemies, but I am still hoping for it!

I have this headcanon that Adam absolutely hates making decisions. And it's usually Lute who suffers because of it.

Also, I am pretty sure Simon (the apostle) is part of that band!

Sometimes I look at the smut Lucifer/Lilith/Adam/Eve one shot in my drafts and I realize that I need to finish it, but then I get embarrassed, so I don't work on it.

I really need to get over that.
