The practice is to look at an object and find an interesting shape. Then within that shape, find another interesting shape. Repeat.
I am prone to naval gazing and depression. I get a bit worried when I am told to “focus inward”. I focus inward and before I know it I’m isolated, alone and depressed. My mind has already contracted in fear.
