Wedding Week (looking back)
The week of the wedding was incredibly stressful for me piecing together the last minute items needed for the big day! We did a lot of our signage and decor DIY, so it was a mess.
I also had to make sure my girls and the guys were ready for the big day, which in itself was a task - from shoe searching to alterations it was not an easy task!
But, we eventually made it to a couple days before the wedding., my wonderful friends helped me out until super late to plan everything and make sure all the projects were done!
Which brings us to day before the wedding. One of my bridesmaids came over early to help me take stuff up to the venue, and then we had to pick up my MOH and book it to our nail appointment. This is when it gets bad - I booked the appointment for the wrong place!! Ugh! Way to go, total fail on my part! But, eventually we made it. However, the nail appointment took a LONNNNG TIME, like forever. Which put us behind. We all ran home to change and then ran to the rehearsal, which actually went really good! Our officiant didn’t go super in depth with our vows, and I’m glad he didn’t because I loved hearing them for the first time during the wedding!
stay tuned for more on our wedding day, photos, and to hear about our honeymoon (DISNEY WORLD AND UNIVERSAL ORLANDO).
(im)patiently waiting for our photos....
it kills me to have to wait this long, but I am so excited!
Here are some pictures from our big day!
WE ARE MARRIED
2ish Weeks left, wedding update
So, things are coming up pretty quickly, and moving closer and closer together... which also means things are becoming more and more real.
It’s been a while since I updated, because as one can assume - we’ve been crazy busy with all things wedding!
We’ve got our marriage license, decided on our escort cards, finalized our wedding color selection, picked our first dance song, finalized our DJ, and even started dance lessons.
stay tuned, because I’m going to queue some posts so I can stay on top of this!
Sora: hey i heard you like bad boys
Kairi: not really
Sora: oh thank god
"Of course! I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong! You may be queen, but I’m afraid that doesn’t give you the right to be so...so mean!"
Alice, Kingdom Hearts
Wonderland
First Appearance: KINGDOM HEARTS (2002) Origin: Alice in Wonderland (1951)
Wonderland is a curious, peculiar world where things are rarely as they seem, and even the most mundane of objects come to life in exciting new ways. It is the second world Sora traveled to since leaving the islands he grew up on, and nothing could prepare him for the oddities that waited.
The party's journey began with them trying to follow a clock-carrying white rabbit that seemed to be in an awful hurry. In order to track him down, they had to fit into a tiny doorway, guarded by, to their surprise, a speaking doorknob. The doorknob explained that in order to pass, they must become small and pointed them in the direction of two magical potions. One sip was enough to shrink the part, allowing them to continue.
They reached the royal court of that world's sovereign, the Queen of Hearts. The Queen had no time for them as she was in the middle of conducting a trial for a young girl called Alice. She was put on trial for the charges of attempting to steal the Queen's Heart, while it was obvious the Heartless were the true culprits. As such, it was no longer meddling in the affairs of other worlds so much as fulfilling their duty, and the trio set out to prove who's truly to blame - otherwise it was off with all their heads!
They began their search in the Lotus Forest where they met the Cheshire Cat, a peculiar fellow who could change his body's visibility at will. Albeit in riddles, he pointed Sora in the right direction on his quest for proof of Alice's innocence.
Before long, all the necessary evidence was collected and displayed before the Queen. As Sora went against the Queen's wishes, however, they're all found guilty and the Queen's loyal Card Soldiers attempted to seize them.
In the midst of the battle, Alice went missing from her cage. Sora, Donald and Goofy are to find her as well as the kidnapper. The Cheshire cat helped in his unique manner again, implying that due to the Heartless, the world has been twisted. Despite up being down and right-side being up at times, the group still managed to find the Heartless' leader on that world and do away with it.
All the commotion woke the doorknob from its nap up. In the middle of a long yawn a Keyhole shone from within its mouth, and Sora's Keyblade responded immediately, locking it. Alice, however, was no longer to be found in Wonderland. Hoping she might be in another world, the trio left on their Gummi Ship.

Wonderland is iconic! It’s one of the first worlds you play in, and it’s got a Princess of Heart. Since my bridesmaids will each be representing a princess, it only seemed fitting that all of their tables be represented as well. We will have none other than Alice herself be the feature figure for this table. Wonderland is full of fun and whimsy - who wouldn’t want to include it?

Demyx's Somebody: I shouldn't have come. I knew it. I should've stayed home.
Lea, grins: Don't worry! There's safety in numbers!
Demyx's Somebody: Yeah, there's also death in numbers, Axel. It's called a massacre.
Lea: The names Lea.
Well, I won't be sad, because you'll always be right here forever and ever
Winnie the Pooh, Kingdom Hearts II
100 Acre Wood
First Appearance: KINGDOM HEARTS (2002) Origin: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
100 Acre Wood is a world that is contained inside a book. The book is passed from Cid to Sora who is instructed to hand the book to Merlin. When Sora gives the book to Merlin, Merlin notes that the book holds special properties and that Sora must find the torn pages in order to explore the entirety of the book.
When Sora first enters the book, he stumbles upon a quiet meadow where alone sits a small yellow bear. This bear is known as Pooh and he is seen contemplating how to say goodbye to himself. Sora then approaches Pooh and Pooh asks Sora if he had come to say goodbye. As Sora presses Pooh for his predicament, Sora finds out that all of Pooh's friends are missing, as well as his very favorite honey tree. Pooh then decides that he is hungry and leaves for his home. Sora follows and is there greeted by Owl, who serves as Sora's guide to 100 Acre Wood. When Sora enters Pooh's house, Pooh is desperate for some honey, but his honey tree is missing.
When Sora recovers the honey tree page, he's able to enter the new area that is the honey tree. There he meets a very frightened Piglet who is looking for Pooh to give him something. Sora then chases Piglet around and eventually consoles the little piglet and reassures him that Pooh is with him. When Piglet sees Pooh, he runs to his best friend and gives Pooh the balloon he had apparently been asking from Piglet. Pooh uses this balloon to float all the way to the top of the honey tree and retrieves some honey, but not without the help of Sora who has to jump from branch to branch and whack away the bees that are threatening to pop Pooh's balloon.
The next page to be recovered is Rabbit's House, here Sora stumbles upon a distressed Rabbit and Piglet. It seems that Pooh has gotten himself stuck in a hole in Rabbit's house. Rabbit exclaims that he can get Pooh out by procuring some carrot juice from his garden. Just as Rabbit goes to get some carrot juice, Tigger bounces onto the scene, literally, and when he does, he breaks the Rabbit's bridge and proclaims Rabbit's garden as his new bouncing ground. Sora then has to protect Rabbit's garden crops from Tigger's excessive bouncing. Only when Sora is successful are they allowed to retrieve the carrot juice and rescue Pooh.
Sora then gets to meet Eeyore at the 100 Acre Wood hill. Sora and the 100 Acre Wood gang find Eeyore floating down the river. Sora is quick to rescue the poor Eeyore, however, Eeyore is then upset that he had last his tail somewhere. Pooh offers to help Eeyore look for the tail by getting Sora to push Pooh on the swing as high as he can so that Pooh can get a bird's eye view of the area in order to find the tail. Once Pooh is pushed high enough however, he flies off and lands on Eeyore's house, which ends up being where Eeyore's tail was all along.
During the penultimate page, Sora finds Roo and Tigger bouncing on a teeter-totter, when Sora goes to talk to them he gets involved in a game where Tigger hides in a giant pot in which he must hit nuts back at the pot from which Tigger throws them and shatter the pot in the process.
Once Sora finds the last page, he stumbles once again upon a distressed Pooh who cannot seem to find his friends. Sora, naturally, offers to help him, and they set off to find Piglet, Tigger, Rabbit, Owl, and Roo. After Sora finds them all, Sora and the gang all gather on top of Starry Hill. Sora tells them that he must go and find his own friends. All of the gang try to convince Sora not to go, and only when Sora tells them that if they want to find him, to look into their hearts, is Sora able to leave. But not without Pooh telling Sora to come back whenever he likes first.

This is a very important and very special table - our memorial table. Winnie the Pooh was really important to my family and something I grew up on. Losing my dad when I was young and then my grandparents hurts really bad, this way they will be incorporated in some way. This table will be represented by two characters - Winnie the Pooh, and Eeyore.

Destiny Islands
“First Appearance: Kingdom Hearts (2002)
A small, peaceful world made of several islands. As expected it sports a tropical climate and has an appropriate topography and greenery. The inhabitants commute between the islands using boats, and the children spend most of their time on the beach. A certain group of youths prefer specifically a small island a bit off the shore of the mainland, one they turned into their playground since they were young. There they engage in play-fights with each other using wooden swords, race each other across the island and spend time with each other, watching the sunsets from a top of a bent-over Paopu tree, one whose fruits were said to intertwine the fates of those who shared them.
Out of that group, a trio composed of Sora, Riku, and Kairi were making plans to leave their island world and search what’s beyond the horizon. Their goal - other worlds, ones they knew existed as Kairi arrived from another world a good decade before. The closer they get to the date where they were to set sail the more insecurities and doubts arrise. Kairi goes as far as to make a good luck charm out of Thalassa sea-shells, but the effort is as though in vain.
The night before they were to set sail a storm hits the islands and the Heartless, being corrupted by Darkness, attack. Riku willingly lets the darkness consume him while Kairi disappears right before Sora’s eyes. Sora remains the last one on his island, and thanks to the magical weapon, the keyblade that protected him from the Darkness. Using it he fought off the Heartless for as long as he could but eventually his very world gave way and vanished, flinging Sora into the Darkness.
When finally the Darkness is defeated, only Kairi manages to return home. Riku is still lost in the Darkness, and Sora has to go look for him. Promising the girl they’ll both be back, Sora sets off once again, the good luck charm the girl made at hand.”

This is going to be our head table, so naturally we are going to be using Kairi and Sora as representation for the head table.Destiny Islands is so important and iconic that we couldn’t leave it off the list. Most of our tables will have table numbers and world names, our table will only have the world name and Mr and Mrs. signs.

Tables/Worlds Feature Introduction
I am going to be doing a feature on our wedding blog (that’s right here) on all the worlds we have chosen for various tables at our wedding. We will give information, why we chose this world, and what Pop! character figure we will be featuring at the world!
The first post will immediately follow this one and the there will be a new one each day! Stay tuned!
Somewhere out there, there’s this tree with star-shaped fruit. And the fruit represents an unbreakable connection. So as long as you and your friends carry good luck charms shaped like it, nothing can ever drive you apart. You will always find your way back to each other. An unbreakable connection.

What happens when you don’t love any bridal gown on the rack?
Backstory: I myself work in the wedding industry for a tuxedo rental company.. but I have also worked on the bridal side of things. What’s the best part about being a bridal stylist? Trying on all the gorgeous dresses! The worst part? Trying on all the gorgeous dresses! In a sense, I had seen everything and ruined myself for any ONE dress. There was one dress that I would have been okay with settling for - but guess what? Alfred Angelo Bridal carried it, and in case you haven’t heard they went out of business (very suddenly, bad business move guys).
So, where did that leave me? Searching for a dress that I didn’t actually love, just to find a dress and settle. That’s when a random add popped up on my facebook for a company called Anomalie. I talked the possibility of a custom dress over with my fiance and he was REALLY hesitant - mostly because typically the word custom = expensive. So, I continued my search and scheduled an introduction call with Anomalie just to talk to them and see what it’s all about.
I had my introduction call with a stylist named Lauren, and she instantly made things a little more exciting and put my mind at ease. When we spoke, she explained the Anomalie brand, what they’re all about, and typical pricing. We also talked about the general vision that I had in mind/what I was looking for.
Anomalie is basically all about cutting out the middle man and getting your wedding dress for an affordable price! Their founder and CEO Leslie also had an anomalie gown, which is pretty amazing. The company started because she was so frustrated with having to pay inflated prices for bridal gowns just because it’s a designer. As someone who worked in bridal and continues to work in the industry, the inflation of price just due to a designers name is ridiculous. What’s even more crazy is that more people are willing to pay the inflated prices because they think a designer has worked on it.
After speaking to Lauren I was sold on using Anomalie for my wedding dress. One thing she did tell me is that you should definitely try on dresses before your design call. It’s important to know how you like how you look before you get your heart set on a gown. My next step was setting up a design call, which I did literally a week later.
My design call was actually pretty easy! Before you call they ask you to gather and upload some photos of what you’re looking for in a wedding gown so your stylist and yourself have it easy. Liz was my stylist, and I am eternally grateful for her (cue toy story Alien ooooo), She talked through my design with me and discussed all the major details, what I like/what I don’t. The next step was getting a price - I honestly expected to have to wait for this but Liz was wonderful and got a price for me while we were still on the design call.
Pricing wise I was honestly blown away. I won’t give too many details just yet, but my dress has beading, lace, an overskirt, and a veil all included with my design. For an overall price of $2025 I honestly don’t know where I could find all of that for what I want at a cheaper price, without sacrificing some major quality issues. Plus I only went $25 over budget, which is practically nothing!
Currently, my dress is in production and I am working with my assigned production assistant Katrina. Let me just tell you, Katrina is phenomenal! She puts up with my panics and insecurities without freaking out. She has quickly put out a ton of fires for me and I am more than grateful for what she has already helped with.
Since my dress has gone into production I have gotten my pattern layout - which is when they basically do a mock up of your dress in a random fabric just to give you the general design - consider it a 3D sketch of your wedding gown so you can really get a feel for it.
The second update I received was part of my beading mock up, which is where they give you a close up zoomed in design of the beading that will go on your gown. What’s nice about having a production assistant like Katrina is she is really helpful when it’s time for feedback and can help make the necessary changes to to really make the dress my own.
I will continue to update as my dress progresses through production, but in the meantime if you’re interested in checking out Anomalie - all you have to do is schedule an introduction call and it’s completely free to do.
As an added bonus, follow this link for $100 off your custom gown!
