I remember listening to a podcast recently that was talking about how back in the day they had a literal travel guide for black people about where was safest and what routes to take. It’s called The Negro Motorist Green Book. They actually just digitized the whole thing on the New York Public Library website:

I can’t remember the name of the specific podcast though it might’ve been Codeswitch. Either way I’m sure a lot of the sundown towns mentioned in 1937 when it was published are still the same today.

Love and Passion...

The Kama Sutra calls attention to four different types of love. 

Love that is formed by continual habit (love of a habit or action… like drinking or reading)

Love resulting from the imagination (love that is from action that can be felt… kissing, cuddling)

Love resulting from belief (mutual love, looking at your partner and knowing that they are yours forever)

Love resulting from the perception of external  objects (the love for objects, I fucking love that Plasma screen, I’m buying that shit.)

Each has it’s own needs and desires to be fulfilled. However the fourth is the one that is most often fulfilled but rarely ever does it have lasting effects. Only the first three loves can give life a deeper meaning and make a person truly happy. Once you learn to embrace each love you can begin to understand how to nurture them and create a deeper connection with yourself and your partner.
