Forbidden Love Dialogue Prompts

"Would it really be so bad—getting caught?" "Yes!"

"We have to stop." "What are you talking about?" "We can't keep doing this. We're going to get caught." "I don't care."

John is taking his usual trip in the space elevator, when things take a disastrous turn.

He’s just in time to see what remains of it stretch and warp and pull apart like melted toffee; separating the weight of the elevator from the safety of the station.

Don’t Cough

Straight up, this comes with an apology. I’m whumping John, I’m more than whumping him. This could read as a death fic, but my headcannon says John survives. 

This is a dark fic! A depressing one, but apparently I’m the kind of person who writes them when they’re having a bad day.

Warnings: Suicide: John contemplates removing his helmet to save himself from a longer, more painful death. 

Character Death: John is in a lot of trouble, and his brothers are not going to get to him in time. It ends on a cliffhanger, but I will say, Virgil takes the ‘chance’ given to him and he comes through…<3

I may write them rescuing him in the future.

And the cuddles afterwards.

There’s no way he’s going to last. John knows it. He’s dying and they’re not going to get to him in time. He can hear them through the comms in his helmet. Well, he can hear Scott’s reassurance and knows the others are inside thunderbird three with him.

They’re desperately trying to get to him.

Scott’s demands of ‘hang on’ and ‘stay with us’ grow more frantic.

I tried to paint Scott in his special suit. I remember his orange color was quite exciting. The background was made by AI. There’re mixed opinions about AI illustration but I have a feeling that it will be a great tool for me, as I’m not good at drawing backgrounds.

Heavenward is three years old today!

(deepest thanks to @redemsi for the lovely anniversary art, as well as the two pieces above ❤︎ ❤︎ ❤︎ )

So three years ago I put up the first part of what would become the longest story I’ve ever written by myself. I didn’t know that when I started. I had a much simpler story in mind when I first began. EOS aired a few days after I published that first chapter, and the course of the story altered completely and irrevocably. Infinitely for the better.

Heavenward sprawls out across 330k words, eight separate parts, and indirectly spawned two of my other major works. It’s the biggest and most complicated story I’ve ever told, and more than anything else it was a proving ground for what I can do when I really care about a story. 

Heavenward was (and is, I know there’s still an epilogue waiting in the wings, I promise it is still in progress) one of the most important projects I’ve ever undertaken, and I think I’m always going to be quietly proud of it. I learned so much in writing it, and was always so grateful for how much interest people had and how much support I was given. I reread parts of it sometimes and marvel at how much I learned in the course of writing it from beginning to end. My style now is so different from what it was at the beginning. 

Anyway! If you haven’t read it, or even if you have, I am obliged to recommend it. It’s not too bad. I like it.

Scott stumbles, his bare feet failing to find the purchase on slick pebbles, violently distracted by the agony in his side. For a moment, time feels like it slows, and Scott thinks he’s going to fall.

“Scott!?” With reflexes that betray John’s aptitude as a professional rescuer (even if he does spend most of their rescues monitoring from space) the astronaut makes a truly impressive dive to catch him.

“Ugh,” Scott instinctively relaxes as IR Blue steadies him, “Thanks, J-”

But reflexes aside, John’s freshly down from orbit, too freshly down from orbit to catch anyone smoothly, let alone a big brother whose feet are stumbling awkwardly about on an uneven, ever-shifting surface of tiny stones. John’s just that little bit too slow, uncoordinated with all the damn gravity down here, and while there’s a moment where Scott hangs, caught and safe, it quickly passes and then the beach is rushing up to meet him - them - as, with another pained gasp, he crashes down on top of his little brother.

John’s head ricochets off pebbles, but the hissed curse (or at least what sounds like one, though Scott hasn’t the faintest what language that had been) has far more to do with the sprawled shape of his brother than it does the back of his skull.
