The new Star Wars movie looks fantastic.
At age 23, Tina Fey was working at a YMCA. At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job. At age 24, Stephen King was working as a janitor and living in a trailer.
At age 27, Vincent Van Gogh failed as a missionary and decided to go to art school. At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare.
At age 28, Wayne Coyne ( from The Flaming Lips) was a fry cook. At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter. At age 30, Martha Stewart was a stockbroker. At age 37, Ang Lee was a stay-at-home-dad working odd jobs. Julia Child released her first cookbook at age 39, and got her own cooking show at age 51. Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didn’t get the Editor-in-Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at age 40. Stan Lee didn’t release his first big comic book until he was 40. Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42. Samuel L. Jackson didn’t get his first movie role until he was 46.
Morgan Freeman landed his first movie role at age 52. Kathryn Bigelow only reached international success when she made The Hurt Locker at age 57. Grandma Moses didn’t begin her painting career until age 76. Louise Bourgeois didn’t become a famous artist until she was 78. Whatever your dream is, it is not too late to achieve it. You aren’t a failure because you haven’t found fame and fortune by the age of 21. Hell, it’s okay if you don’t even know what your dream is yet. Even if you’re flipping burgers, waiting tables or answering phones today, you never know where you’ll end up tomorrow. Never tell yourself you’re too old to make it.
Never tell yourself you missed your chance.
Never tell yourself that you aren’t good enough.
You can do it. Whatever it is.
This is so worth reblogging!
Thank you!
Wellfleet has wandered off... he’s been missing for five hours now and I’m worried his gigantic e-collar/cone of “shame” will impair his vision and make it hard for him to defend himself... I’m worried he’ll get hit by a car because the roads here are super dangerous and full of hills... and people drive like maniacs... I’m worried some assholes will find him and hurt him because some people are sickos and do shit like that to animals.
I’m just so so so worried. I’m SICK with worry. I forced myself to eat dinner because I hadn’t eaten all day and now I’m regretting it because I feel awful for “indulging” while my dog is out in the woods or laying dead on a road... and I also just feel terrible because let’s face it pesto is a wonderful of our world but not fun for my tummy.
Please come home soon, Wellfleet xo
Taylor Swift holding her Dick Clark Award for Excellence at the AMAs
political comics that are just kids holding books and going “what’s this?????? not a electronic? no computer???not phone?? how can be??” will always crack me up
I think old people do this just to feel better about themselves because they don’t know how to use a computer and think that it works the other way around for some reason.
I fixed it
Yorktown
This is magical
The Hamilton posts on my dash left me with a vague desire to see the show if the opportunity ever arose. But this. I pressed play, and at a minute and 20 seconds into this video, I paused it, opened iTunes, and downloaded the soundtrack. What the fuck is this. I didn’t ask for this.
THIS IS EXACTLY HOW IT HAPPENED.
I can’t put words to just how much the orchestra loses their collective shit during Yorktown – specifically during Oak’s rap + right after it. Their volume skyrockets, the conductor was headbanging…it felt like my seat was rattling off its hinges with the energy of it.
Yep, this is what sucked me in too. Listen with headphones. Every single time I get goosebumps when they get to “The world turned upside down…”
I’m so beyond excited to see this
The goosebumps are sooo real

Laurel Lance Memorial Week ↳ Day 3: favorite relationship: Sisters
“I couldn’t be more proud of you if you were my own sister.”
“I love you, sis, always and forever.”
This strikes me because whenever I see sister-sister relationships on television or in fiction I immediately think of them in relation to mine with my two sisters. The loss of a sister is a particularly challenging notion, even when presented in fiction... because I cannot imagine going for one moment without both or one of my sisters. Disagreements and arguments over stolen clothing aside... they and my brother are the greatest stars in my life. They form the constellation triangulating me home wherever I may be.
