notes: so... hey yall. im back after being gone for literally more than half a year... anyway did u miss me.
Here Ao’nung went again, taking enjoyment in being nothing but terror. It seemed no matter how many times you scolded him, he would just end up choosing a new victim to pick on.
You watched from a distance as Ao’nung relentlessly teased the Sully siblings. You couldn’t hear exactly what he was saying, but you put two and two together that it was most likely regarding their unique appearances.
You sighed and shook your head to yourself. Dating this man felt more like babysitting than anything else. The routine of reprimanding him, only for him to go right back to his terrible behavior was starting to feel like a chore.
You watched him and his friends gang up on the youngest son, grabbing at his tail and taking turns shoving him like one big group of jocks.
“Oh hell no.” You muttered, pushing yourself off the tree you were leaning against and stalking towards him.
You couldn’t sit by and watch it continue any longer. You tried to give him a chance to realize what he was doing and rectify it on his own, but clearly it was time for you to step in.
“Leave my sister alone, fish lips!” Lo’ak yelled.
He had only jumped him to defend his sibling, but now he was getting the brunt of it and was terribly outnumbered.
“What are you gonna do about it?” Ao’nung smirked, not realizing why Lo’ak had suddenly started backing up once he saw you approaching at full speed.
The look in your eyes was terrifying and he swore he could see steam blowing out of your ears.
“Oh, you’re scared?” He laughed, taking a menacing step closer. “Go call for your 5 fingered freak of a father, why don’t you?”
You stopped a few feet from them, your arms crossed and your jaw clenched.
“Ao’nung!” You yelled, tilting your head at him once he reluctantly around to look at you.
“Shit.” He grumbled, his friends scattering from the scene like mice and leaving him to deal with you on his own.
You pointed directly in front of you at the sand, knowing he wouldn’t dare challenge you due to the gravely serious look on your face.
“Get here. Now.” You spoke through gritted teeth.
He sighed, dropping his head as if it would help tune out the snickers that came from the na’vi he previously had so much fun tormenting. He grudgingly walked over to you, only raising his head slightly to make eye contact.
“Correct me if I’m wrong, but I specifically remember telling you to treat them kindly. These are our guests, Ao’nung. Do you take me as some kind of joke?” You questioned, eyes narrowed.
“No…” He grumbled, his voice almost a whisper.
“Huh?” Your head turned to the side a bit and your hand cupped your ear, putting emphasis on the fact that you hadn’t quite heard him clearly and wanted him to speak up.
“I’m sorry, what was that?”
Before he could repeat an answer you already knew, you reached up and grabbed his arm, nails sinking into his skin, dragging him away from the others.
He stumbled as he tried to keep up with you, wincing more in annoyance than pain.
Ao'nung whines, “Ow, baby, that hurts. My fucking arm.”
“Did she just… drag him away from us?” Lo’ak questioned.
“And he let her?” Kiri added.
Both her and Lo’ak stood dumbfounded while they watched the scene unfold. They watched you and Ao’nung walk away, Kiri blinking in confusion.
“Damn. He’s completely wrapped around her finger.” Lo’ak said after a moment of silence, “What a wuss.”
You finally released your grip when the both of you reached his Mauri, pushing him through the sheet of fabric that served as a doorway.
He muttered something indescribable under his breath, grabbing a stool that was placed in the corner and bringing it into the center of the room.
He sat down, one arm tracing over the marks your nails had left on his skin, gaze avoidant. Although he was taller than you, Ao’nung knew better than to look down at you when he was to be reprimanded.
“So that’s what you do when I’m not around, huh?” Your hands found their way to your hips, and he knew what was coming next.
You opened your mouth to lay it on him, but a part of you hesitated. The first few times you had scolded him, he genuinely looked like he understood what he did wrong, and swore he would do better.
So the fact that he was sitting in front of you like he already knew what you were going to say, aggravated you beyond belief. You brought your hands up to your temple, small smile spreading across your face at the devious idea that produced in your mind.
You looked at your helpless boyfriend sitting below you and simply walked past him, heading out the doorway without another word spoken.
He blinked in shock, turning around with a confused expression on his face and immediately scurrying to his feet when he realized you were leaving.
“Where are you going?” He asked, following you outside, close on your heels and grabbing your wrist to stop you from going any further.
He scoffed when you swatted his hand away, like he couldn’t believe you had such a reaction to him touching you.
You walked up on him, your chests nearly touching with how close you were to him.
“You want me to punish you? I will show you a punishment.” You said firmly, making sure he heard every word very clearly.
“Baby-“
“Apologize to them.” Your glare was strong and unwavering as you challenged him, huffing in amusement at his failure to respond.
“Have it your way. Good luck tending to yourself for the next few days.” You walked away and waved him off, not even bothering to check the look on his face.
You did not need to turn around to know you had succeeded in making him flustered once he realized what your words meant.
“Fine.” He shrugged immaturely, throwing his hands up beside his head and feigning carelessness.
“I am not in need of your help! I will be just fine on my own!” He raised his voice, yelling so you could hear him.
It had been almost a week since Ao’nung had gotten to hug, kiss, or even hold your hand. Any time he so much as looked in your direction, it was like you were looking straight through him.
Ewya forbid he try to speak to you. You would pretend like you could not hear him and walk right past, standing firm on your decision. He genuinely felt like he was losing his mind, he could notwithstand this torture any longer.
“Fuck this.” He rose to his feet, unable to fathom how you had gotten him to the point of even considering an apology, let alone acting on it. Even thinking of the word ‘apology’ was enough to make him gag.
Lo’ak and Kiri were busy indulging in trying to find pearls along the shore, a task given to them by their father in order to stay out of trouble. Ao'nung makes his way over, looking much less threatening than he had a few days ago.
“Give me a break.” Kiri groaned, clutching the few pearls in her hands and gathering her belongings as she prepared to leave.
She had no intention of speaking to this knucklehead and refused to let him disturb her peace for the second time.
“Hey.” Ao’nung’s voice was unusually mellow and his stance non-threatening.
Lo’ak tilted his head with mirth, already being able to tell what this was about.
“I’m guessing your handler sent you over here to apologize for the other day.” He grinned, crossing his arms.
Ao’nung only glared at Lo’ak spewing insults in his head. Lo’ak titled his head towards Ao’nung, “Well, go on. Let’s hear it.”
Ao’nung had done everything in his power to stop himself from growling. The only thing that allowed him to keep his composure was the constant reminder playing throughout his head— that you could play this game for as long as you wanted to and you had no intention on letting up. He cleared his throat, gearing up to sink to a level lower than he knew possible. Groveling.
“I apologize for picking on you and your sister. That was wrong of me, and it will not happen again.” Ao’nung grimaced with this last part, one of his hands opening and closing a fist repeatedly to keep his temper under control.
“If you need help figuring out your way around the island, do not hesitate to ask.” Ao’nung stated, voice low.
The two siblings stared at each other, not shocked, but more like unnerved at the fact that he was being nice.
“Okay…” Kiri trailed off, nodding her head with uncertainty and scratching the back of her neck.
“We are good then. Great.” He forced a tight lipped smile and it was almost scarier than his usual behavior.
He started back to his hut, overhearing the two of them questioning the entire interaction. The easy part was done, all that concerned him was having to face you.
On his way to your Mauri he focused on the words he would use to win you back over. His mind was foggy, he had so much frustration pent up that he could not even think straight. His legs carried him the rest of the way without much thought.
Your ears perked up at the sound of approaching footsteps, your attention shifting from the spear you were sharpening and to the doorway of your hut.
You watched Ao’nung emerge from outside and through the entrance of your home, a satisfied smirk touching your lips. You knew by the look on his face that you had won. You called his bluff from the beginning, knowing he would give in eventually.
He waited patiently to be invited closer and you obliged with a simple head nod. You eyed him closely and sat up on the edge of your hammock, the desperate expression on his face almost enough to make you give in.
“Come here.” You ordered, pointing in front you, setting the weapon on the small shelf closest to your hammock.
Not even taking the time to think, the muscular male was sat at your feet within seconds, his head dropped low in between your legs.
“Please, Y/n." He gulped, raising his head to meet your eyes. "I have learned my lesson. I cannot bare this any longer.”
“Have you, Ao’nung?” You asked, both your hands placed behind you to prop your body up. “I am not sure that I believe you.”
“I have, I am sorry, Y/n. I will be good from now on, I promise.” He mumbled, starting to crawl towards you in hopes his punishment had been revoked.
With the starved look in his eyes, you weren’t even sure if he had actually even heard the words that came out of your mouth.
“Ah ah, not yet.” You raised your leg in opposition, your foot coming in contact with his chest and stopping him dead in his tracks.
“I suppose you were a good in the end. Maybe if you keep up this behavior, I might let you touch me where you really want to.” You purred.
Ao’nung pressed his cheek against your leg and closed his eyes, placing a featherweight kiss on your skin and exhaling shakily with zero regard of how pathetic he looked right now. He had not been able to so much as speak to you in days, let alone touch you.
With the way his ears were pressed flat against his skull, paired with his increased heart rate simply due to your proposal, it was clear that he would gratefully take the crumbs you were throwing to him.
You grin at his soft and sweet kisses, gently running your fingers through his hair as he melted in your touch almost immediately.
“Baby, please. I apologize. You were right.” Ao’nung whispered gently into your thighs, pure desperation seeping from his lips.
You watched your lovers eyes follow your every movement as you leaned down slowly towards his face. However, his hands stayed respectfully behind his back, not touching you until you said he could.
Just at the sight of you made him lean in subconsciously, but you stoped his soft lips.
“I like it when you beg for me.” You whispered tenderly his lips centimeters away from yours.
Ao’nung’s shaky breaths became more and more difficult for him to control. You were so close to him and the fact that he was unable to feel you was driving him insane.
“Please. Please let me. Please. I will be good, I promise.” He begged again, voice deeper, more desperate.
You smirked at him, analyzing his practically shaking form. His hands fidgeting behind his back, eyes looking into yours, pupils shaking lightly, mouth wet. His desperation made you only more and more attracted to him.
You finally press your lips against his, guiding Ao’nung’s face to yours, a signal that he was allowed to touch you once again. Ao’nung stood from off his knees continuously kissing you hungrily, his lips pressing to yours, all of his desperation spilling out into one kiss.
The sweet moan you let your due to his kisses drove him practically insane as your eyes furrowed, gently smirking into the kisses he sent your lips.
You found it incredible that you could do suck a mindless little challenge on Ao’nung only to have him go feral only hours later. It made you feel special knowing that he could hardly live without you.
His kisses peppered all over your lips as Ao’nung touched your waist pulling your body to his. He lifted you up with a soft groan sitting in your hammock, you on his lap, still engrossed in his kisses.
You heard him groan and you smirked, not being able to help the smile spreading across your face.
“Fuck, I missed you.” He whispered, breaking the kiss only to be able to tell you that.
“Mm, You're such a good boy for me,” You whispered tenderly into his lips, leaning in once again, "Aren't you, Ao'nung?"
notes: nothing much to say on this! hope you all enjoy and please tell me if you enjoy the roxto fics bc i think i'll start doing some more. he's such an underdeveloped/under-appreciated character and deserves SM LOVEE. i apologize for the ending its literally so bad.
"How many times do I have to tell you?" Ao'nung says rolling his eyes at you. "You are not to go hunting with the men unless I am going with you. And since I am not going, you are staying here. I do not want you showing yourself off in front of any men, ever."
Your brother, Ao’nung, had been overprotective for as long as you could remember. It seemed as if you two had the same argument every single day. Ao’nung absolutely refused to let you hang out with the males of the clan, only entrusting you to a few people, his mate being one of them.
Nawi was a elegant and beautiful Metkayina girl who had always been a very well-respected clan member. Although you and Nawi had never been close growing up, the more your older brother began to bring her around, the more you had grown fond of her.
No matter how hard she tried to calm Ao’nung down, it did not change how stubborn your bother was. He did not accept that you were old enough to make your own decisions and the fact that Tsireya had fallen for the Lo’ak, a boy from the Ometikyia clan whom he did not accept, made him even more unreasonable.
"You are not my father! I am allowed to do what I want!" You yell back at him. Both of your hands clenched into fists as Ao’nung cocks an eyebrow, arms crossed in front of his puffed chest.
"Stop being so dramatic Y/n, I am only protecting you."
You practically scream at him, completely in disbelief. “Protecting me from what?!”
Nawi, who had just finished fishing, noticed the two of you arguing a couple feet away and began to walk over, silently asking herself if this would ever come to an end.
"From other men!” Ao’nung shouts back, “I do not need them to get any ideas about touching you or worse. You will thank me for this when you are older."
Nawi quickly pushed herself between the two of you before you could wrap your hands around Ao’nung’s throat. Unfortunately for her, seeing your brother’s mate only brought up another point on how unfair the situation was.
"So I am not allowed to have my first kiss but it is okay for you to fuck around with Nawi before the two of you were even mated?!"
Ao'nung hisses at you, now even more furious that you dared to bring up Nawi's name in such a way, "That was different and you know that!"
"Both of you, stop it." Nawi says quickly, glaring over at her husband then sending you a scolding glare. Ao'nung huffs, but stays silent at her command, you doing the same.
She gently takes your hands into hers and tried to loosen up your fists, not taking your words personally. She understood both sides, being the younger sister of 2 older brothers and the eldest of 2 other sisters.
"Y/n, I understand your frustration, but you two have this argument every day. Maybe we can find a solution-"
"The solution is for her to stay away from boys!" Ao'nung interfered, earning a smack from his mate's tail against his stomach.
"Ao’nung," She snaps at him, "You are not helping. At least try to show some empathy." Nawi hissed in a low volume, then turning back to you.
"Why don’t you go for a walk, hm? I will stay and reason with your brother."
You don’t answer, only ripping your hands away from hers. You stomp away still frustrated, leaving the mated couple to themselves.
The frustration did not cease to rush through your every vein as you heard Nawi trying to talk some sense into her thick-headed husband.
Almost instinctively, you head for Rotxo's marui. Without a word you walk in to find the only man you were actually allowed to talk to. Rotxo glanced up at you from his seated position, immediately knowing what had happened just from your expression.
Rotxo had gotten his tattoos after finishing his iknimaya almost a year ago. He had not only become a very skilled hunter but was known fro being the kindest person on your whole island. When he wasn’t fishing he spent time helping out around the village.
Rotxo was the only boy who made you feel comfortable, and you’d be lying if you said you didn’t find him attractive. From his tattoos to his hair, every part of Rotxo was all you could ever want in a man.
But he was Ao’nung’s best friend.
Not to mention all the Metkayina girls who practically threw themselves at his feet. You knew he would never look at you the way you looked at him. So, you ignored your feelings. For years. To you, it was better to ignore the way you felt then cause a problem.
Rotxo's eyes follow you as you silently sit down in front of him, mirroring his crossed legs as you cover your face with both hands. A soft sigh left his lips.
"Ao'nung will not let go hunting with the men, huh?" He mumbled quietly. Roxto spoke without even looking at you, his focus on tying the ends of the bracelet he had in his hands.
"Of course he will not. He says I am not allowed to go because he is not going, and he does not want me to be surrounded by guys, whom I clearly have no interest in!" You ramble with a mocking undertone.
Rotxo sighed at your complaints. Ao'nung was simply unfair. Your brother was allowed to mess up and make mistakes but you could not even let anyone be interested in you for a second.
As you continue speaking Roxto continues to examine the bracelet before reaching out to take your hand, securing the bracelet on your wrist.
"Ao’nung is just making sure you do not get hurt, Y/n. I am sure he only wants what is best for you." He says softly as you sigh, exhaling deeply.
These words weren't just hard for you to hear, but also hard for Rotxo himself to say. Since he was Ao'nung’s best friend, Ao'nung was sure that Rotxo would never even dream of ever courting you. He was certain Rotxo had too much respect for him to even think of you in such a way, but oh was he wrong.
Seeing you made his heart flutter, the butterflies in his stomach almost starting to turn into a painful sting in his guts whenever he told himself that he could not have you. There was not a day that Rotxo didn’t think of you or your smile and every single think about you.
Ao'nung would kill him on the spot, which left him with no other option to hide his feelings for you. Sometimes it got unbearable to conceal what his heart had been screaming for. Yearning for. But what could he do? Talk to Ao'nung? Never. That was a death sentence. But it was moments like this were Rotxo was especially vulnerable.
"He does not want what is best for me! He wants the opposite of that. He is just so- argh! I hate him so much sometimes. He is totally unreasonable." You spat, your eyes almost filling up with tears at how angry you are.
"I am going to end up alone, Rotxo. Without a mate for the rest of my life. No one will ever even dream of courting me and, thanks to my brother, hardly any male has ever even looked to me, let alone talked to me.”
Rotxo could not help but smile. You did not even know how wrong you were. His hand hesitantly reached out to your face, stroking over your pouted cheeks with care.
"That will not happen, Y/n, I am sure of it." His voice was so gentle and soft even if his heart were about to break his bones by its heavy pounding.
You sighed in defeat as you turned to look up at Rotxo. His beautiful blue eyes stared into yours as you felt the emotions you had tried so desperately to push down resurface once again. Blush filled your face as he looks at you with the softest expression you had ever seen a man give.
He moved his hand away as you broke eye contact with him. You suddenly looked up at the boy scrunching your eyes together.
"Rotxo, how is it that you do not yet have a mate? The girls in our clan adore you and since you have finished your iknimaya you should be allowed to choose a mate. Do you have anyone you like?" You question softly.
Rotxo huffed, straightening his back as his face began to warm up at your words. "I do like someone. But I cannot choose them."
For a second your heart stopped, "Oh? How come? Does she not like you as well?" You say, stopping yourself from choking on your words.
"I do not think she acknowledges me as a potential mate." He answered quietly, looking into your eyes.
At the start of his evolving feelings, he found it ridiculously hard to look at you without bursting out in emotions but after all these years he had gotten used to hiding it.
“Hm.” You mumble, avoiding eye contact with him. “Maybe you should tell her. Perhaps she likes you as well.”
Rotxo chuckled dryly before dropping his smile. His expression turns into one you have never seen before as he whispers out, "Her brother would kill me, Y/n."
"Oh." You frowned. Rotxo only glaned down, not saying a word. You felt awful. It did not matter whom he liked, he deserved to be with someone who made him happy. Even if it was not you.
“Well, that is okay. Uhm, how well do you know her brother?” You ask genuinely, trying to figure out whom he had feelings for. You did not know any siblings that were not both mated already.
"He is my best friend." Rotxo smiled before laughing at your facial expression.
"I thought Ao'nung was your best friend?" You asked, his laughter drawing out a smile from your lips.
"He is."
"Wait. I do not understand." You said shaking your head. “You like someone who’s brother would kill you if he found out. And that person, the brother I mean, is your best friend. But if Ao’nung is your best friend, then....”
You gasped suddenly. “Rotxo!”
“Hm?”
"Tsireya is already dating Lo'ak!" You hiss-whispered, causing him to laugh for the second time.
"I know, Y/n.” He smiled at your shocked expression, “I do not have feelings for Tsireya."
"Huh?" You spoke, “Well then that makes no sense. If you do not have feelings for Tsireya then....” You stopped talking as your face heated up at the possible realization of what he was saying.
“Wait..” You whispered shaking your head softly, “Rotxo. That can only mean-”
"That I like you."
At his confession you could only stare at him in silence, completely and utterly shocked. Your whole life you had felt so many feelings towards the man that sat in front of you, never daring to say a word about it and suddenly you find out that this entire time he had felt the same.
“Are you joking?” You ask softly gazing up into his eyes. Rotxo’s eyes met yours as he shook his head.
“No, Y/n. I have liked you for years, I-I just could not bring myself to say anything. I did not think you felt the same.” He muttered, quietly. “Do you... feel the same?”
You're speechless.
"Yes," You say quickly, “I do. I-I thought it was you who did not have feelings for me. This whole time I had no idea. This whole time I liked you too.”
"Really?"
“I always have. Always.” You spoke tenderly.
He smiles, a beautiful, real, smile.
“Is this why you never mated?” You whispered gently, eyes locked on his.
He felt his ears flushing at your question and they stood up straight to you for a moment before tilting backwards and lying flat against the sides of his head.
"I spent all of my time looking at you, Y/n. I was waiting for you." he admitted, his body subconsciously leaning towards your lips.
The butterflies in your stomach intensified.
"Really?" You asked again, lips only centimeters away from yours. Rotxo inhaled softly. Ao'nung was going to kill him if he did this.
"Y/n, Your brother." He whispered, your face inching closer to his as you shushed him softly.
Rotxo breath was shaky against your lips as he leaned his forehead to yours. His hands trembled. So many years he had waited for this very moment. Regardless of how wrong he knew this was, how messy it was going to be, he simply could not listen.
"Fuck." He breathed out ever so quietly. Rotxo pushed his lips against yours as you kissed him back as passionately as you could.
You could feel your guts toss and turn in the best way possible as he kissed you back. Both of your arms found their way around his strong neck, fingertips tracing over his tense skin. Rotxo finally found the courage to pull you on top of him by your waist, heart fluttering as one arm wrapped around you and the other guiding your lips to his.
The kiss itself was not perfect but it felt so unbelievably great to kiss him. As you pulled back you watched his lovely half lidded eyes being glued to your lips before he took a deep breath to engage in another kiss.
And another, and another.
There was not an inch on your face that had not gotten all showered in his love. It had taken a while until you both managed to figure out how to kiss. You could not help but whimper quietly as you felt his tongue slipping over your bottom lip before his teeth gently tugged at the soft flesh, leaving you completely breathless.
Hours passed in what felt like seconds as you two sat there until the eclipse neared, wrapped in each other's embrace, gasping for air in between lovely, innocent kisses.
"Y/n? Y/n!?"
Nawi's voice rang out through the village. She was looking for you. Only then did you notice that it was getting dark.
"Oh no." You said, drawing away from Rotxo immediately, panic rushing through your veins.
"What am I going to say?" You cursed under your breath before you got up on your feet and you peeked out of the hut. Nawi and Ao'nung were on their way, heading straight to Rotxo's Marui, guessing you would be here.
You turned to Rotxo who now stood and was just as stressed as you were, if not even more. He cleared his throat and tried to hide his nerves. He had done so all these years, so he would do the same now, as he always had.
"Rotxo. What are we going to do? Fuck, my brother is going to kill me." You say looking up at him, fear spread all over your face.
"Hey, we got this, okay? Just follow my lead." He ensured.
You watched as he left his Marui to face your brother and his mate. They were relieved when they saw you finally step out of his home shortly after him, trying to adapt to the calmness Rotxo showed.
"Y/n! Where have you been? We were worried sick about you!" Nawi exclaimed, running up to you as she engulfed you into a warm hug.
"You are so irresponsible, Y/n! First you want to go hunting then you disappear out of nowhere. What is wrong with you? You should have told us where you were going!" Ao'nung started to scold you immediately, but you only pursed your lips.
"She was with me, there is nothing to worry about." Rotxo interfered, which seemed to calm Ao'nung right away.
"Thank Ewya. Y/n when I said go take a walk I did not mean disappear for 5 hours." Nawi says, her own scolding tactic seeping though her lips as she gave you a disciplinary look.
"I hope that is true, because if I find out you were out hunting you are going to be in so much trouble." Ao'nung spoke bitterly.
You only rolled your eyes. How ironic. As your brother continued his speech, Nawi stared at you, her eyes squinting slightly.
Holding your chin in her hand, she tilted your head up slightly, examining your plump, swollen lips. You avoided all eye contact as she stared into your eyes.
Out of the corner of your eye, you noticed Rotxo watching the two of you wearily. Nawi glanced over to Rotxo's nervous expression, then back at you, then over to her husband, whom was still speaking. Her eyes widen slightly as she connected the dots. She pursed her lips, letting go of your face.
"This has been fun but we should get going. It is almost near eclipse and we all have water training with the Sully children in the morning." Nawi spoke.
Relief flooded through your veins as you heard Rotxo exhale softly behind you.
"Thank you again, Rotxo." Ao'nung spoke, patting his best friend on the back before turning round to leave.
"Yes. Thank you, Rotxo." Nawi spoke, eyeing the boy carefully then hooking your arm into hers and following her mate.
You allowed her to pull you away from Rotxo, beyond grateful that she did not say anything.
As the three of you walked away, you glance back, Rotxo still gazing you softly. Your stomach gets warm at the sight of him, smiling back gently before turning around and walking away.
Your mind continues to race replaying Rotxo's kisses as your face flushing as you realize what had just happened.
You had finally gotten what you've always wanted. Him. Even though you were happy, you couldn’t get rid of a small thought that invaded in your mind.
word count: 493 words..... count and tell im wrong.
warning(s): none!

Ao’nung runs up to you and grabs your hand, halting your movements completely. You turn around, but refuse to look at him. It was absolutely crushing him how you wouldn’t even spare him a glance.
His hands moved to either side of your face, pleading for you to meet his eyes, even for just a second.
“Look at me, Y/n.” He whispers. “Please.”
You wanted to push him away, to scream at him, to tell him off, but you couldn’t. Before you could stop, you already found yourself meeting his eyes.
“I am sorry,” he says, hands dropping to your waist and pulling you closer to him, “I am. I was wrong.”
Your hands found their way to his forearms and you squeeze them gently, disappointment etched onto your features. You look down once again, fingers tracing the stripes that litter his hands.
“You should not have treated them in such a way, Ao’nung.” You whisper tenderly, still not being able to look him in the eyes. “I thought you were better than that.”
“I am, Y/n. I promise you that I am.” He says desperately trying to reassure you once again. You see him trying to catch your eyes but you do not return the gesture.
“This must stop, Ao’nung. I am serious.” You mumble.
“I know you are. It will, I promise.”
“You will apologize to all of them, yes? You and Tsaro and Sa'ney and Ongwi. You must all apologize.”
“Yes, we will. All of us. I'll make sure of it. As soon as the sun rises.” Ao'nung searches your eyes deeply.
You finally look up at him, making sure he meant it with utmost sincerity. Ao'nung gazes at you, your eyes softening as you sigh.
“Oh, Ao’nung.” You say gently, moving your hand to touch his face as he leans in further.
“I love you.” Ao'nung whispers, his eyes never leaving yours. You can not help but feel completely mesmerized by your lover. He bends over, inches away from your lips.
"No, Ao'nung, stop." You whisper, pushing him back gently. "You... you cannot just do things like that and expect me to forgive you with a kiss. You..."
You sigh, pausing gently as Ao'nung looks at you remorsefully. "I know, I am sorry, Y/n."
"Are you?"
"I am." He says again, cupping your cheek into his hands. "I really am, yawne. I promise you that I am."
You sigh, tracing his tattoos softly before looking up at him. "I know you are trying to be."
Ao’nung smiles gently as you connect your lips to his, kissing him slowly and passionately. His thumb traces circles onto your waist, lips leaving their place on yours for a quick moment to admire you before kissing you once again.
“I see you, Y/n.” he says tenderly, “I love you to a point where I do not want to live life without you.”
Your eyes teared up at his statement, not expecting something so sentimental to come out of his mouth. You bit down the grin that tugged at your lips as he finished his sentence.
“I know you do, Ao’nung.” You whispered, touching his neck softly, “I love you too.”

Neteyam rubs his face in frustration, looking down at your ever so pleading look.
“Neteyam, please. I am as good a warrior as the rest of you. I should be allowed to fight for the clan.” You reason angrily, "How is it that you allow Lo'ak to go and not me? Just ask your father, he knows I am trained enough to fight."
“I already said no, Y/n. I refuse to ask and I refuse to let you go.” He stated in a harsh tone making you frown more then you already were.
You both had been alone in the Sully’s tent arguing about the planned raid for about an hour, yet no progress had been made between the two of you.
You turned to sit on a small log-like stool still looking up at Neteyam with an hopeful look. He was your best friend, but not only that. You were to be promised mates soon, to be forever lovers and look over the Omatikaya clan.
There were no objections from either of you once being told you would be mated. You had been lovers for a while and best friends since you were little. Neteyam and you hardly ever fought. You both supported and loved each other endlessly. The only issue that you two came had ever seemed to come across was one like this.
You were stubborn about following them to the raid tomorrow, you were just as good as a warrior and deserved to be there. But as stubborn as you were, so was Neteyam and he refused to allow you within a 100km radius from the raid.
“Do you think I do not deserve to fly with you, Neteyam?”
Once the words slipped out of your mouth you knew it had pissed him off. The flicker of fury behind his eyes and slight shake of his head making his braid beads click made you nervously fidget for his response.
“I never said that Y/n.” Neteyam replied stoically not a single ounce of emotion in his voice.
“You know I never said that.” he slightly raised his voice pacing backwards away from you.
“Well that is what it feels like you are saying.” you speak growling at him, standing up once again.
“Y/n-“
You turn your back to Neteyam, refusing to even look at him as you speak under your breath.
“I am just as capable as the rest of you. I fight for myself.” You say raising your voice slightly. “Why must you be the only one that thinks I am not worthy?!”
“That is not what I think! I am trying to keep you safe, Y/n! Why can you not-" Neteyam lets out a deep sigh, lowering his voice to a much more calming tone.
"Would you please just listen to the words I am saying.” He spoke, anger still laced between his words. Stepping towards you again he faces you. You shake your head still refusing to look at him.
“No, Neteyam, I will not listen. It is so unfair that you allow every other Na’vi to go but me. It is as if you think I am not capable.” You say stepping away from him.
“Y/n. I never once said any of those things. I am trying to keep you safe. I am trying to keep you alive. It is too dangerous, too risky.” He repeats once again.
Maybe it was the fact that he said that you cannot come or the way he refused to even give you the possibility to let you join him. But it made you snap your head over to Neteyam. You looked into his golden eyes watching them sparkle with frustration.
“Am I not a good enough warrior for you Neteyam?! Do I not fly my ikran well enough to be able to fly with you? You honestly think I cannot do anything?!” You threw your hands in the air in frustration.
Maybe you were trying to rile him up, get him to react. You just wanted him to listen to you. But the beast you awakened within Neteyam was not worth it.
“You know what Y/n- fine. Yes! Yes, you’re not a good enough warrior! Is that what you wanted me to say? Well there. Loud enough for the furthest creatures to hear me! You cannot fly with the warriors tomorrow because you are not good enough.” He spat in your face, his face burning and his heartbeat quick.
You went silent as you looked up at him, never had you seen him this way. So angry, so upset with you. Your eyes burned as you held your tears in. His words hurt but you worked them out of him. Yet, that did not stop the ache in your chest, the feeling of your heart beating deep in your stomach.
As Neteyam looked at you he watched as your face crumpled and your eyes teared up, absolute and utter pain etched on your face.
“Y/n.” He reasons after coming to his senses. “Y/n wait, I-.. I didn’t mean it, my love-“
“You really do not think I am good enough?” You whisper to yourself, your voice muted from pain.
“No, No my love, just listen to me I-“ Neteyam begins to try and reason with you but you push him away.
“Why.. Why would you say that..?” You whisper once again. Tears begin to pour down your face and your throat begins to close as your heart pounds.
“Y/n-“ Neteyam’s eyes tear as he tries to grab you once again but you push him off of more forcefully this time.
“Do not touch me!” You hiss at him as you begin to sob the tears in your eyes making your vision blurry.
“Just.. just stay away from me. Damnit, Neteyam. Why can't I ever be enough for you?” You speak roughly.
Neteyam's heart practically breaks at your words but before he can say anything, you leave the tent sobbing. Tears spill down your cheeks and you eyes continue to be blurred from tears.
Neteyam watched you leave, calling after you as he begin to feel the weight of what had just happened crash down on him. Newfound tears finally falling down his face.
-
It was now the day of the raid, and you laid sulking in your family’s tent recapping the argument between you and your lover.
You knew you stirred him up yet that didn’t make his words hurt any less. Neteyam’s words, ‘You are not good enough’ could only replay in your mind over and over.
Neteyam knew he must apologize to you. None of the words he meant, he was just sick and tired of arguing with you and hit a breaking point.
Neteyam peaked his head inside of your hut. Seeing you curled up on your mat only made his heart ache even more. This is not how he is meant to treat his mate; he is supposed to cherish and adore her but yet here you lay in front of him.
Neteyam took a deep breath before entering the hut fully, walking up to where you laid.
“Y/n.” he spoke softly sitting beside you.
You shuffle to sit upwards, still a great distance further than you would usually sit by him.
“I need to apologize to you, I should not-“
“Am I really not good enough?” you interrupt looking up at your lover, revealing the tears in your puffy eyes.
Saying the sentence caused your voice to crack slightly and the tears you had tried to hold in hopelessly fell down your blue cheeks making Neteyam’s heart feel like it had shattered into pieces.
Looking into your eyes he could feel your pain. He silently took you in his arms, setting you in his lap to face him before gazing into your eyes, cupping your face in his hands, whipping your tears gently with his thumb.
“No, my love. I think you are the best worrier all of pandora has ever seen.” Neteyam whispers softly.
You can only look at him, for fear if you say anything you will start to cry even harder.
“But.. But you said I wasn’t good enough. You said that. You said I was not good enough to fly with you.” You blubber out using the last of your words knowing if you speak again you will cry.
“I know, Y/n. I am so sorry, my love. I was speaking through anger, not truth. You are the best being Eywa has blessed upon me. You are more than good enough, you are the clan’s best warrior and you will make the best Tsa’hik. You are the only one I will every truly want, for you outshine the rest. My Y/n, every word said yesterday was due to anger and will never be a true reflection of the utter love I carry for no one but you.”
Neteyam held onto you tightly, staring into your teary eyes, scanning them for some sort of response. You sniffled softly, practically sobbing at his tender words.
“B-But if you loved me you would let me go. I just want to help and be like the rest. Why can I not fight along side you, Neteyam? I just want to be with you. I only wish to be with you. To be enough for you.” you whisper, resting your head on his shoulder so he couldn’t see the tears you were still crying.
Neteyam lightly traced his fingers over the stripes on your back with a deep sigh.
“You are more than enough for me, Y/n." Neteyam whispers, tears swelling in his eyes, "I just cannot bare the thought of losing you. I fear a world where you do not reside, my Y/n.”
You can’t control your emotions as you finally allow yourself to sob into Neteyam’s chest. Your lover sighs gently as he peppers you with small kisses.
“Oh, Y/n. I am truly sorry my love, I shouldn’t have said what I said. I just wish to protect you, not do the opposite. Please do not cry. You deserve nothing but joy.” Neteyam whispers tenderly.
He kissed your lips softly, smiling sweetly still rubbing your back, and together you stayed intertwined with each other enjoying the others company.

The familiar sound of your name said over and over again lured you into consciousness. You had lost all sense of the space-time continuum, not knowing where up or down was, whether you were alive or dead.
Only the pain was omnipresent, it told you it was real what you felt. It burned and pulsed, throbbed and tingled. You surrendered to this pain for what felt like an eternity, groaning again in agony because every movement, no matter how tiny, hurt.
warning(s): yelling, some cursing i think, arguing, hissing, jealously, no legitimate warnings just strong emotions.
notes: uhm this was rushed....... like a lot. i apologize HAHA. a couple of people have been asking for a part two on my first post, ‘much too elegant’, and ngl i’m debating if i shouldddd. if enough people ask i’ll considerate it so tell me what. i’m definitely a neteyam girly so writing for lo’ak is not my strong suit but its all good. enjoy my lovess!
"Do not lie to me Lo’ak.” You scream loudly, tears filling your eyes. “I saw you with my own eyes!"
"You’re being ridiculous, I barely even talked to her!” Lo’ak shouts back. You turn around swiftly at his words, angry tears continuing to fill your eyes.
"But it's the look in your eyes, Lo'ak. That look you give her..." You take a deep breath, closing your eyes.
You feel sick just thinking about it, "That look is enough, Lo’ak."
Before he can even respond to your harsh words you turn your back to him, walking away.
“What? What are you taking about! What does that even mean?!” He says, chasing after you. "Y/n!"
"You know exactly what I mean, Lo'ak." You say turning around sharply, once again. You let out a deep sigh, avoiding his gaze.
"Just.. What happens next, huh? Breathing lessons turn into late night sessions? You start stargazing and shit? Damnit, Lo'ak." You pause as the tears forming in your eyes begin to fall,
"You.. you said you were mine."
Lo’ak freezes upon seeing your tears. His eyes shake back and forth unsure of what to say or how to comfort you.
"I am. And I always will be. Y/n, please-"
"No, you are not. You are disloyal." You cut him off. "Just.. Just leave, I am sick of your lies and I am finished arguing with you."
"What the fuck are you talking about." Lo’ak curses suddenly, taking your arm in his hand attempting to get you to face him, "You’re the one who wanted to argue about this in the first place!"
"No no no,” You say enraged once again slipping out of his grasp, "You are the one who started flirting with all these little village girls the second we got here."
"I wasn’t flirting Y/n! Why aren’t you listening to me?!" Lo’ak pleads, anger coating his voice.
"Just go away, Lo’ak! Forget it. I will not speak to someone I do not know." You mumble, wiping your tears.
"What do you mean someone you don’t know? You know me." Lo’ak responds taking your hand into his once again.
You look at his fingers. Five. You look at yours. Four. Yet they fit together perfectly. You exhale shakily, Lo’ak watching you examine his hand.
"You know me, Y/n. You’re the only one who really knows me." He repeats in a delicate whisper.
You inhale softly as he takes your hand and puts it on his chest. His heartbeat is slow. Steady. Safe.
"I’m Lo’ak. I'm yours. No one else’s." He says tenderly. Your eyes soften as he leans towards you slowly. You suddenly pull away from him, your ears lowering.
"No. You are no longer Lo’ak. You are someone that I do not know.“ You snarl.
"We just got here, Y/n. I’m the same person you loved back home. I am no one different."
"But you are, Lo’ak. You are different. You act different. You speak different. Ewya, you even move different. You are not the same Lo’ak I knew back home and if you are then I do not want you anywhere near me."
"Y/n-"
"My Lo’ak would never do this to me. He is loyal and caring and bold yet sweet. He makes sure I felt safe and he makes sure I feel like I am no ones but his. But you? You don’t care. My Lo’ak cares." You say firmly.
"Y/n, why can’t you just drop this? I'm not looking at anyone, I don't know what more you want me to say!"
"No, because it is not just the looking, Lo’ak.” You say, still unbelievably frustrated. This argument seemed to be going no where.
"Then what is it?!" He outbursts.
"It’s the looking and the glancing and everything that could and will lead up to you and her and you being fine without me while i can’t do anything without you!" You ramble yelling at him once again.
Lo’ak looks into your eyes a pained expression on his face. His heart physically hurts at even the thought of you being upset. Seeing you so distressed made him feel a type of pain in his chest he didn’t even know was possible.
You stare at each other in silence, breathing slightly heavy, the weight of the conversation soaking into both of you. Lo’ak walks towards you cautiously. One hand gently touching your face and the other pulling you towards him by the waist.
Your hand subconsciously moves to his shoulder, the other laying on his forearm. As he touches you, you realize how much you’ve missed his soft touch. The warmth of his hands make you melt as he tucks your hair behind your ears, simply admiring your beauty.
“I don’t look at anyone but you, Y/n." Lo’ak whispers, titling your head up towards his lips slightly.
"Lo’ak-"
"Only you. It’s always been you."
"You cannot just say that and expect me to forgive you." You whisper trying to pull away from him, but Lo'ak's grip only tightens.
"I know. I know. You're right, okay? You're right." He confesses sighing gently, "I've been talking to everyone but you lately and that's selfish of me. I have no excuse and... I'm sorry."
Your eyes widen at slightly at his words. "You are?"
"Yes. I am. I'm sorry. You are the one person I care about and I've been avoiding you and I'm such a dick for that."
"Yeah. You are." You mumble at his confession.
"I need to spend more time with you."
"Yes, you do."
"And treat you better,"
"That as well." You mutter softly hands caressing his arm gently.
"Y/n, I'm sorry. Truly." He whispers tenderly. You stare into his eyes, scanning for sarcasm or something, only to find none. You look down to your hand which runs along his forearm lovingly.
"Anything you want I will give you. I swear, Just name it." He breathes, practically beckoning for your attention.
"I want you to be mine again." You say softly. Lo'ak chuckles tearfully as you gaze into his eyes, leaning closer to his lips.
"Oh, tìyawn." Lo'ak mumbles tenderly, "I always have been."
At his words you finally lean in, kissing his lips gently. You can feel yourself melt into his hands, the warmth of his lips engulfing you entirely.
Pulling away, you stare into his eyes scanning his whole face while biting down your smile. Noticing your actions, Lo'ak can’t help but smirk along with you.
"What?" He smiled, chuckling as a laugh that escaped your lips. "What is it?"
"There you are." You whisper, staring into his eyes. "There is my Lo'ak."
warning(s): body descriptions (not really a warning but yeah), reader is a daddy's girl, small hiss near the beginning.
notes: oh my god you guys this is my first post on here... help. bro im so happy to finally be posting! uhm please be nice bc i'm new at this but yeah hope you enjoyyy
You exhale deeply as your father welcomes the forest people into your home. Scanning the crowd, you can only imagine the responsibilities you now held. As if you didn't have enough already.
"My children will guide yours, Jake Te'Sully." Your father spoke, silence flowing throughout the clan.
"But father-" Started Ao'nung, stepping forward to complain. You hush him, stopping his movement with your arm.
"Ao'nung." You hiss at your younger brother, eyes piercing into his as a warning. Ao’nung shut his mouth the second you had opened yours, not daring to speak again.
"Toruk Makto and his family will stay with us." Your father announces to the clan, "We will treat them with respect. We will treat them as our brothers and sisters."
Your father glances at Ao'nung as he says the last part. Jake smiles at Tonowari as your mother closes her eyes, clearly annoyed.
Subconsciously, you step forward, now standing in front of your father. "Who is the eldest?" You ask, scanning each of the brightly colored children.
A boy, much larger and taller than you, steps out from the family. You had not noticed him before and now you cannot even begin to figure out why. He seemed impossible to not notice.
"I am the eldest. My name is Neteyam."
Your ears perked up at the sound of his voice. It was like liquid gold, beautiful and soft, yet mighty and firm. You held eye contact, studying his warm eyes.
He was... handsome, no doubt about it. His strength could be seen just by looking at him. Scars littered his body and his muscles were very defined.
You could feel a dark shade of blue growing on your cheeks as he looked you up and down, his eyes lingering on the tattoos which you had received a year ago.
As the eldest daughter of Tonowari, who held the title for Olo'eyktan of the Metkayina clan, you could never be anything but perfect. The kindness and nurturing spirt of your father along with the elegance and seriousness of your mother had printed onto you the second you were born. With both of their powerful qualities you had always walked with grace and spoke with immense sophistication.
Growing up the way you did made distractions, such as the males of your clan, completely unrealistic. You had never once felt a burden on your title. You were the clan's pride and joy. The best at anything and everything you did, the most adored member of Awa'atlu.
Your father and mother were always supportive, even if they didn’t show it as much in public. And your father made sure to let you know who you were, never allowing you to feel ashamed or embarrassed of yourself. He wanted you to know your worth.
Although he had done his job, the feeling that consumed your body from the young boys stare was something not even your father could prepare you for. When Neteyam looked at you, you felt strange. Your body seemed to wish for him to look away only to let him keep staring anyway. Allowing him to analyze your tattoos and hair and body felt like some sort of honor.
This feeling was far different from when Ao'nung's stupid friends made even stupider comments about you and your title. It was far from that, for sure. You felt... well, flustered. It felt strange. Flustered was not a word you had considered yourself familiar with.
As the boy looks to your eyes again, you blink softly attempting to rid the warmth on your face. You gracefully brought your fingers to your forehead, bowing out of respect.
"Oel ngati kameie." You say softly, voice polished with beauty.
You could feel your father’s stare from behind you. If you did not approve of the newcomers, there was a strong chance he would not either.
Neteyam bowed back, "Oel ngati kameie." He spoke as his eyes followed your movements. Looking back at him, he seemed to be completely mesmerized.
Mesmerized by you.
You smile at the look on his face, a blush forming back onto your cheeks once again.
"My name is Y/n." You say, maturity showing through your voice as you speak. He glances to your eyes as you speak to him. "It is nice to meet you, Neteyam."
The blue boy smiles back at you gently, simply admiring your voice. You blink, tucking your silky long hair behind your ear. Your younger sister, Tsireya, takes a step forward next to you, beaming at the Sully family.
"Come, I will show you our village." Your sister smiles, her voice just as velvety and soft as her. It was not everyday that outsiders came into your village so you understood her joy.
Regardless, you tried your hardest to keep your calm. You already felt exposed from the way you had reacted to Neteyam looking at you, whether someone saw your coverup or not. You could only imagine what a mess you would be while spending time with him.
Following your siblings as they began to lead the Sully family around Awa'atlu, your eyes flickered back to the eldest. Neteyam was quiet and refined, well-educated and seemed to be just unbelievably perfect.
You didn’t even notice that your staring until Neteyam's eyes meet yours. At the sight of him catching you, you can only shy away. You silently curse to yourself as you catch a charming smile spread across his lips once more.
