Try hungover. Yes, it was a good party -- even though I actually don't know if I knew anyone who was there. I think he just called all of his actor friends and told them to bring as much money and as little inhibitions as possible.
Home from LA.
If anyone needs me then I'll probably be in bed and cursing about booking such an early flight -- it's a bit of a pain when your brother throws a surprise party on your last night.

LA is nice, though I sometimes feel as though it's a bit too... I can't think of the word, but I guess glamorous might be close to it? Give me a cosy apartment any day -- and some rain! My brother took me out for a meal last night for my birthday, and that was nice. He took the whole day off work in fact to spend it with me, which I don't think his agent was too happy about.

I stayed in a motel once where the guy who had the room next to me had the most booming voice but was apparently super nice, because he said things like that. More people should be like him. Even if he did scare me, and I got coffee all over myself.
I'm sure I would've been pretty terrified too until I realised that he was complimenting someone -- in fact, that probably would've been more terrifying for a while seeing as no-one ever does compliment each other anymore really.
It’s such a shame that people don’t yell nice things, huh? I wouldn’t mind hearing something along the lines of,”WOW, HONEY! THIS DINNER IS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!” or “THESE ARE THE BEST DAMN COOKIES! YOU NEED TO GIVE ME THE RECIPE”
See, that is some yelling I probably would be able to stand, and I suppose it would be rather sweet in an extremely disruptive way.
Arrived in Ohio last night. Nothing compares to home cooking and thick enough walls that you can't hear the neighbours yelling at each other.
You know how much I love a good party story. Make sure to do that. But don’t get too attached to any of the men who will inevitably try to get with you.
I'm sure that I'll be able to manage that. And I'm sure that if my older brother is around there won't be too much attaching either.

Yes, finally. Don't even talk to me about that woman. She was absolutely insufferable, and I might be stuck with her during that week if Cooper has to go to work. I think I'll just decide to go and get lost in the city on my own -- I would rather be lost than spend a few minutes with her.
It's just over a week now until I go back to Ohio to see my parents and then head off to L.A. to see my brother. It barely seems like any time at all has passed since I was complaining about having to sort all of this out -- and now I'm actually looking forward to it.
You really do seem peeved about it, and for that, I apologize in place of the boss who put you on the story. However, it still sounds like it could be a fun piece. How often do you get to do creative writing in journalism?

It would be much more enjoyable if all of the evidence I had wasn't so stupid and unbelievable. If someone had a credible theory, then I would be fine with it and probably enjoy the research.
I already have an answer to that, and I'll say that mine is I try to keep the creative writing to a minimum when it comes to my job.

That's not all I have on the list to write about, but those are the ones that pissed me off the most. I've had to do so much research on this project that it's making me doubt the sanity of most of the population.

Not even a sunset in Las Vegas, or a trip to Iceland? Nowhere, at the moment. They want a big feature done partially as a follow-up to the Roswell anniversary the other week, they think that making something fresh in people's minds again will sell more magazines.

I wish I knew. I really did. It's summer, so most people are out enjoying the world rather than being that bored they need to bother me with a cat in a tree story.
They have me writing an article on conspiracy theories and I feel that this might be the stupidest thing I have ever done.

Maybe when you finally manage to get in contact with him personally you should mention that as his brother, you don’t appreciate having to follow him around on a wild goose chase just to have a conversation with him? That way he could give you more specific times of when he’s not so busy — but if he’s like you describe that may not work too much. What is it that he even does for work? Must be some agent if they agreed to stall so he could focus his attentions elsewhere.

My brother is an actor -- Cooper Anderson. He did a lot of annoying credit commercials, and he's had a couple of decent roles. He keeps mentioning working on something big at the moment though, but I have no idea what that is.
