A Pennsyvlania State Trooper steps over debris left from a three-car accident on Middletown Road in Media, Pa. Slick and low-visible conditions were to blame when a black two-door sedan collided head-on with a silver Lexus around 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014. A man was trapped inside the black Sunfire, visibly bleeding from the nose and unable to exit his car. Emergency officials from Concordville Fire Co., Riddle EMS, Rocky Run Fire Co., Middletown Fire Co. and Brookhaven Fire Co., responded, using the Jaws of Life to free the elderly man. Brookhaven ambulance took the man to an area hospital.

Went to Rose Tree Park in Media, Pa. trying to get the Christmas day cover for my newspaper. I struggled at first to find a shot that I thought captured the spirit — the wonder in a child's eye, two parents experiencing the joys of the holiday all over again — but until I got the silhouette, I wasn't satisfied. I had to really concentrate to find that light. I started shooting tight at first, and then I went wide just to try to get all the lights at once. Maybe a little backwards, but whatever.

I nearly died just to catch the final two songs of Between the Buried and Me’s last show of 2014 last night at the TLA in Philadelphia.
