This ... was going to be an art blog... But I wasn't good at keeping up with it. So, this is it. xD

but what if...

Serena keeps taking part in the Tripokalon… But every time she does, she doesn’t win… And she watches all of her rivals jump on ahead of her Then, at the end of the season,  She wins a Tripokalon And decides to set off on her own to keep participating, and training, until she becomes Kalos Queen…

… I was thinking about that earlier this week, and wanted to share it before XY079 aired…

… I know the episode has already aired now, and she probably won it, as many people have suspected.

But… I still want to stand by my ‘what if’… I think it would have really been interesting to see her keep losing… and growing… and eventually, achieving a well deserved victory.

It’s just that … to me, it seems that she is more worried about losing, and it really seems like she’s taking it quite seriously. And I had wondered “what if she keeps losing, and needs to figure out on her own what she’s been doing wrong…?” So, for her last Tripokalon before this season ends, she brushes off her fear, has a fantastic time, and wins in the end. 

… at least, that’s how I would have thought about handling it. 

But I’m happy with how the writer’s have been handling things so far. So, even if she starts winning Tripokalons from here on out, I wouldn’t mind.

Two goodbyes

Goodbye, to my favorite XYZ crew.

And goodbye, to my best friend.

(it’s about to get reeeal sappy REEEAL fast, so buckle up your seatbelts, and click read more for perhaps a little TMI about... ME. P.S, it’s also very long.)

Three years ago, this whole Thursday morning tradition began. But I didn’t start it alone. My best friend of 18 years started this tradition with me EVERY Thursday morning. 

He didn’t miss a single episode (hahaha). He was there for all the tears, all the relentless giggling, all the hype... he didn’t miss a beat. XD But it goes beyond that. He was there from the very start. Since episode 001. Through generations I-VI. All the childhood drama, every time I began a new journey in a new region... he wasn’t just a background character in my life. He was right up in the action. Even if it was by force (sometimes, HAH). He watched me pick every starter: Squirtle, Chikorita, Torchic, Piplup, Snivy, Fennekin. He knew my game.

Sunday, March 20th, right before the airing of XYZ 020, he had a stroke, and he needed to be put down due to immobility issues. And it was the worst day of my life. It lead into an equally terrible week. Even watching the episode for that week was bittersweet, but I kept his picture in my mind, and started to feel a little better. 

What made it so difficult was the attachment of so many memories to the series and him. And I couldn’t really shake the reality of it, that he was really gone. 

But, like many things, I learned to live past it. I have three wonderful little columbidae that know how to put a smile on my face, and things have returned to normal ever since.

Now... For the past few months, I’ve been on the hunt for a new companion, for my mum and myself. Ultimately, we decided on a dog: a shiba inu. Let me tell you-- finding a shibe is HARD. Like, not just “go on the puppy finding site, look, a shiba inu!” No... If I was going to find a new friend, it was going to be an adventure. In between being in contact with several breeders, running into handfuls upon handfuls of bybs and puppymills, and having a few hopeful/failed rescues, it was difficult. It took a while. And I started to think that maybe it just wasn’t meant to be. 

Spoke too soon... XD Not only did I find the perfect dog, but she will be coming home next week. Yup. Perfect timing for the new generation of Pokemon to come in. Coincidence?... could be. I’m not entirely convinced it was just good timing. 

For Pokemon, we’re entering the 21st year, the 7th generation, and the 20th season of the anime. For me, and my new friend... it feels like something entirely new. And I’m in a position now to welcome that change. So, goodbye, XYZ. And all years preceding it. Goodbye, my best friend.

Time to bring in the new chapter... and start a new journey.

XY/Z may be over but I’m still gonna be following Sun and Moon.

Admittedly, I made this blog for Pokemon art... then it slowly became an XY/XYZ blog, focusing mostly on Satosere. But now, I’m going to make this my Pokeani blog, with additional Poke-related things as well. Makes sense, right? .......... RIGHT.

Serena didn’t change her goal

She didn’t change her goal as a Pokemon Performer. She is going to visit different regions (starting with Hoenn), and she will learn Pokemon Contest in Hoenn in order to polish up her performance. Even Yashio is awaiting her return to see how much she will grow as a performer by then. You can say for the time being that she is going to try out Pokemon Contest as a Coordinator, but her end goal didn’t change, and she is doing all this for the sake of improving as a Performer.
