Yesterday was my senior prom!

I didn't go. And I don't regret it at all. (:

I think prom is made up to be a really big deal. I'm happy for those who went and had fun, but I chose to spend all day with my boyfriend instead. We ran around the DVD rental store, found a horror movie and made fun of each other. We ended up at the drive-in, goofing off, being nerds and not watching the movies at all. And then we cruised around town, just because. I was out until 2 in the morning, and I had so much fun.

So in 30 or 40 years when my kids ask me about my senior prom, I won't feel bad when I told them that I chose not to go, because a dance doesn't define your senior year. And I will encourage my kids to make their own decision about prom, and not feel pressured into or out of it by anyone. 

I'm so glad that my boyfriend is such a sweetheart. (: (:
