The Today Show's interview with Elle Kennedy gives me so many theories about what is going to happen in Bad Idea.
With the reveal that Ivy is being bullied, now it makes sense why she was avoiding people and skipping hockey games at the end of Love Song. This also clarifies the teaser Elle Kennedy posted of the beginning of the first chapter from Ivy's POV - no wonder Ivy wants this year (her sophomore year) to be better than the last (her freshman year).
My theory about why "the hockey program ... is in shambles from something else." From the wording, I don't think it has to do with the personal drama between AJ and Beau. What if it's because there's a new coach? What if Coach Jensen is forced to retire for health reasons or just sidelined for part of the season? Evidence supporting this theory. From Chapter 31 of Love Song: "His parents, Brenna and Jake, are spending the summer in Boston to help out Brenna’s dad who just had knee surgery." Also in a Q&A, Elle Kennedy mentioned that we'd see more of Mike Hollis in Bad Idea, who became one of the coaches in the Campus Diaries series. What if the reason we see more of him is because he's the new head coach when Jensen is forced to retire or take a medical leave of absence?
